Possibility of a business after GC

After getting the GC, is there a rule or law that we have to work as it was mentioned in the labor?
Can we start a business? If yes, does it need to be in a similar field or we can do anything we want?
Also, what should be timeline for this kind of change?

Thanks for your thoughts.

This is also a question that haunted me for some time. my lawyer said staying in the same field for 6 months is good enough. During the naturalization, the focus will be whether you pay taxes, whether you have a criminal record, whether you continuously stay in the US ... I personally know many many people who did completely different jobs after GC. but you'd better ask some very experienced lawyer about this. This seems to be one of many grey areas in the law.
