Ugent Help needed: GC holder moving to India
We have received our GC on March 2004. We visited India duing May 2004 and stayed there for 3 months. Now, my company in USA is transferring me to India office. I am planning to apply for a re-entry permit (I-131 form) so that I can come back in 2 years and I can keep up my GC valid.
My question to you is : 1. Since it has been only 6 months we have physically stayed in USA, will it be a problem to get the re-entry permit ? 2. If I come back to USA say after one year, will I be eligible to apply for a citizenship after spending the necessary years in USA? 3. Will there be any issues, if I get the re-entry permit for 2 years now and come back after say 1 or 1 1/2 years ? |

Long stay in India & maintain GC
I got my GC 3 months back. My parents are in india and they want me & family to stay with them. But I dont want to loose my GC.
My Questions are: 1. Is it ok to stay in India for a long period of time (more then 1 year) immediately after 3 months of GC approval. 2. Max how many days we can request for a re-entry permit? 3. When I visit to US back after a long time how long should I stay before going back to india? Friends please advice. Your help is really appreciated.

****,
I have just now noticed your signature. Glad that you have also taken up this humble cause. In my opinion donating to red cross is the best donation any one can make because where ever there is a major trouble any where in the world, red cross will be there for relief. When a war takes place between two countries, red cross will be there in war time relief operations . I feel that there is absolutely no need to give any credit to me in your signature. Noble ideas are infectious. They didn't start with me . So please remove credits to me in your signature.
