Legal action on working for same client while switching the employer

1.An employee 'X' of employer 'A' working for client "C" .
2.'X' resigns from 'A' and switches to employer 'B' and starts working for same client "C".

Here is the legal scenario...
---------------------
'X' while joining 'A' has signed some contract documents (printed word documents/ not the notary documents) saying that he/she willn't work for the previous/present client place through some other vendor or directly with client.

Is there any chance for Empployer 'A' can legally sue the employee 'X' with proof of signed word documents... If yes, What should Employee 'X' do to overcome this legal action....

Many might have come across this situation, could have handled it perfectly..
Advice needed ..Thanks
