EAD and New SSN while on H4

Hi,

My wife is on H4 right now, she received her EAD recently.
We want to change her SSN "type" because it was issued as "Not Valid For Work" on H4, but at the same time we want her to be on H4 as her Advanced Parole is still pending.

If we use the EAD card for changing the SSN "Type" does she lose her H4 status even though she hasn't used the EAD for work.

Thank You

Getting a new SSN with EAD will not remove her H4 status. But using the EAD to work will invalidate her H4 status.
