Address Change !!!

I need a little advice from the experts out there !

I had maintained my apartment for around 18 month for my green card. I din't want to take any chances and so althouth I was working in a different state on a project I kept the original apartment when I had filed for my GC.

No I got approved last month and at the end of this month I have given notice to vacate the apt.

Because of my job I may even have to move out of my current address. My neighbour and friend has agreed for me to give my address at his apt address. He is going to be at that address for some time. So I am planing to fill the AR11 form with my neighbours address.

This will prevent me from filling new AR11's when I move again and also from changing the car licenses and my drivers license. I am also still paying taxes of the previous state itself...so even my taxes match the address on the AR11 state.

Question : AM I OK IN DOING THAT. Or do I have to give the address of the current place that I am staying on this project and when I move to the next project I have to fill another AR11

PLEASE HELP !!! NOT SURE WHAT TO DO

Officially, the new address you mention in AR-11 should be the address where you are living, no matter whether it is for 1 month or 1 year. I believe, one should do this way to avoid any problems. Since you got you plastic card, you do not need to care much about whether USCIS updates your address. Do your duty. On safer side, always mail the AR-11 with certified mail with a return receipt. It hardly takes time.

Unhappy any other comment

Is there anyone else with a comment. I have to move out of there soon so I am not sure how long I will be. Do I really need to give another address. I am technically still going to be a resident of Illinois.
