I am currently on my H1-B visa .My company is processing my green card as well.It is in labour certification stage.

I need some advise on how to proceed with my case.

- I have applied for Employment-based I-485 as a derivatory of my
ex-husband.
Myself and my ex got divorced recently but my greencard
application is still being processed. I have sent certified mails to the
service center with my divorce decree. I have certified mail
receipts with me.What if my application gets approved inspite of my
sending my divorce status to the INS.

1) Should I accept the greencard it or not?
2) If I decide to accept it, what are the consequeces on my
naturalization ?
3) Or should I return the approved greencard and continue the process
through my employer ?

No. It would be illegal.

It may be denied, and your Green Card can be revoked.

You should not accept is approval.
However, when you file your own I-140/I-485 in future, mention the same alien number (A#) that you got this time (do not leave A# blank, like you did last time).

I shall inform the CIS if there is approval by mistake .

Pralay, could you elaborate on why I should mention the current A number if I decide to apply for I-485 later on. Does it have any advantages of getting processed faster ?

Also what are the consequences of a denied/revoked I-485 due to reasons of divorce and its implications on future I -485 that I file through a employer or future spouse ?

- The sudden twist: I saw my online approval message. I recently got the original approval notice, courtesy copy and a letter stating that my I-485 is approved and I need to get it stamped . I called up the National customer service line and spoke with this representative. She told me that I had to take all the approval notices along with my divorce decree and let the officer decide on my next step. I went to the office today.I first spoke to officer. I showed her all the return receipts, copies of what I sent to the INS, my divorce decree, and of course my approved I-485. She the called her boss. He looked at all the documents and told me that my case was approved and there is nothing much anyone could do about it. They also called Laguna Niguel CSC and checked and it was approved. They even enquired about my ex-husband etc and took copies of my documents. I even gave them a certified copy of my divorce decree. Having presented all the facts to them, they insisted that my case was APPROVED.

To make a long story short, after reviewing everything, they took my approval notice, attached the copies I gave them to it and told me to get my stamping if I wanted to be a permanent resident. They sent me to another officer , who fingerprinted me, took my photographs, stamped my passport with I-551 stamp and took away my I-94.

Having been so truthful & honest through the whole process, I am not sure whether to be happy or sad about my greencard. The BCIS has given it to me knowing all the facts. Should I expect any problms and if so how I deal with them.

Yes ****.

I had everything going my way.Had my H1B.My employer was sponsering my greencard. I went to the District office to surrender my greencard and put all the facts upfront ..but the drama happens.the joke was the chief officer(boss in the office) even discussed abt my ex-spouse and stapled a certified copy of my divorce with the approval notice and asked me to go for stamping.
I had 3 officers look through my documents.

Do u think if they try to revoke my case, would I have a strong case to appeal for ?
