Unhappy Help Help ! Have been laid off after get stamped on my passport...

Hi,

I have been laid off but have stamping on my passport as of May 10th 2004. I still have not received the Plastic card. Can I claim unemployment compensation?..Please let me know at the earliest..

Yes you can. Card has nothing to do with it.

I think better make sure that it wont give any problem at the time of citizenship.

Why should it be? When you are laid off, the employer is terminating you, even though you had intention to work with them "permanently". Unlike, I-485 stage, unemployment is not an issue when you have GC. It's possible that you are a millionaire and after layoff you decided not to work anymore for rest of your life. Absolutely no issue in getting citizenship.
