I-551 stamp

I got my I-551 stamp last week. In my I-551 stamp top part is not clear. Today I went NJ dmv to change my licence to NJ, the dmv guy didnt accept my application telling that he cannot read my stamp.

Any one with similar experience ? can I get it restamped from the ins ?

Talk to the DMV guy's supervisor. He should be able to read your Alien Registration number and verify your status with USCIS. If you have an approval notice show that as well.
