non-profit organization
We have a social club that I am the founder. I am on H1B, can I register a local non-profit org. under my name?

can we take donations for events/activities
as a non-profit org, we will need to take membership fees, donations from members, and money from sponsors for events and activities. We don't plan to hire anyone. Is this OK from INS point of view for H1B?

also the doantion, we would like to issue tax deductible receipts to members, is this OK for H1b?

So generally this is OK to do as I am not getting paid by the non-profit organization in anyway. But I am in control of the organization and its activities. Any info from CIS website regarding this?
