Can I teach dance on my H1

I work full time on an H1. I would like to know if I can teach dance in the evenings and weekends.

If I declared it on my taxes would I have to register the class as a business?

Your H1-B is meant for very speciific job functions. I would say no, but talk to immigratino lawyer to stay out of trouble.

how about voluntary work?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think you can do voluntary work. e.g. helping homeless people, ....teaching dance!
As long as you are not paid for it, it can be called recreation or voluntary work. Is the correct?

If Shru wants to put it on his taxes, I doubt he was thinking about voluntary work.
