Buying Company

Folks,

I am planning of starting a company and was planning of buying companies which were active during dot-com boom and became dormant after that. This would add a history to the new company that i start.

The company that i am planning to buy has no business transactions for last 2 years but has done transactions upto $4million per year before that.

Any folks with any such acquisition experience, please advice. What is the market trend and how much such companies cost.

Do these dormant companies still retain percentage after it is bought out ? What is the likely price that can be paid for such companies ? This is an IT consulting company.
