Jury Duty for GC holders

I got my GC (emp based) in Feb 2003.

I just got summoned for Jury Duty by the loal county sherrif's court.

Do I have to go or was this sent in error. Isn't jury duty only for citizens.

My only concern is if it is illegal for a non-citizen to go for jury duty. Maybe they just pick names out of a hat, irrespective of what the person's status is.

Grateful for your reply.

Thanks.

It was my understanding that you have to be a registered voter (i.e., you have to be a citizen) to be summoned for jury duty...

Jury duty is a requirement for citizens only. They pick your name randomly from the local motor vehicle department's or voters registration database. You will have to return the summons indicating your ineligibility for jury duty (not being a US citizen).
