Passport stamped, leaving india, please advice - urgent!!!
I stamped my passport after my I-485 approval in July'03, not yet recd my card. I will be visiting india on a business trip for 5 months. I have a few questions, please advice
1. Is it OK to travel to India for 5 months with only the stamped passport? 2. Do I need to carry any other document? 3. Do I need to let INS know of my travel? 4. Will there be an issue in INDIA (Mumbai) when I show just the stamped passport and I-485 approval without the actual card. Anybody with similar experience, please respond. Any info in this matter will be highly appreciated since I plan on leaving next week

It is ok to travel back with only a stamp on the passport. I did this
earlier this year. Funny story; my stamp said it expired on 8/7/03 and I was returning on the 8th of July. The immig officers in India asked me why I was leaving on the date of the expiry. I had to explain how the month appears in the first field of the date.. |
