leave after GC

My labor got cleared but I am waiting for my Canadian citizenship, which will come up in 2 to 2.5 yrs time.

Can we take the GC and come to US for 2-3 months then apply for leave of absence, may be 2 yrs.

And when my Canadian citizenship is done then we can wait for the school year to begin, then move permanently to US.
