Arlington , VA I-485 Time line

Hello Guys,

Has anybody applied for AOS in Arlington VA in last 3 three months or so..

What is the normal time for getting a receipt for the I-485 application. I appliend (marriage to USC) on september 22 and have not redeived any thing yet... Is this normal...

Please help.

this is my experience.
AOS ( marriage to USC )filed in arlington january 2003 (transferred from different office where I filed in april 2001 ) fingerprint sep. 2002, interview dec 2002 approved ( after contacting senator's allen office ..) october 2003.

hey,

Has any one applied for AOS in arlington office in last 3 -5 months.

It has been over a month since I sent the aopplication. I have not received any receipt. INS has cashed the check though 30 days ago.

Any suggestion how should i get the recipt or status...

EAD Notification received

Hey Guys,

Here is the time line

Applied for AOS -1485 marriage to USC on 24 September 03
Check cashed by BCIS on 1 Oct 03
Letter of approval for EAD by BCIS on 05 Nov 03

My Timeline:

I-130/485 filed at Arlington in May 2001,based on marriage to a USC
Fingerprinted: 11/2002, 01/2003
Interviewed:03/2003
Police clearance submitted: 04/2003(fingerprint unclassifiable)
Approved: Nov. 2003.

Is the processing faster if I apply for a green card for my mother when she is in the US or when she is in India? I currently live in Arlington, VA and my mother currently lives in Calcutta. How long is the total process taking nowadays from filing to approval?Thanks.
