Help....urgent information for interview...

Hi All,

Am new to this forum and just registered myself.

I am sooooooo scared of the interview for removing my conditional residence.
Was married in 1999 and was given the conditional GC in 2000. Finally I got my interview to remove my conditional status?
I have few questions:

1) What kind of questions do they ask? I heard that they ask you very very personal questions? I have my joint account statements and joint credit card statements, but haven't clicked pictures and someone said that pics are very much necessary.....i am not a picture fan and so is not my wife.....we even don't have a camera.....Was staying with my in-laws so don't have any lease also with me....can someone give me a guidance as to what kind of questions they ask????? My interview is on 15th and unfortunately i came to know about this website forums only today. I will really appreciate all the help everyone could help me with.

2) How long does it usually take after you finish the interview? Is this AOS the same thing as my interview?

3) Do they make you sit together and ask questiions or take you in seperate rooms and cross question you? ( dunno, have no idea about this thing)

4) What if they are not satisfied by our interview, would they send me and my wife back? My wife is a citizen since 9 yrs.

Friends, I would really appreceiate all the help you could forward. Am in a state of mind where could not catch up with good sleep also...

Thanks a lot for all your help in advance....

Re: Help....urgent information for interview...

Rahul,
There is no need to be scared.

Did you have an interview for your Green Card in 2000?? INS will ask similar questions as to what were asked a few years ago.

If you DONOT have pictures I would suggest that you obtain sworn affidavits from your in-laws , friends , co-workers certifying that they know you and your wife as a married couple since (the day you got married) and an explanation from your in-laws about the lease - mortgauge statement.

An interview can take anywhere from 2 mins to 30 mins. Yes this interview should be the same as the one for your AOS.

3) Do they make you sit together and ask questiions or take you in seperate rooms and cross question you? ( dunno, have no idea about this thing)

They will put you and your wife in seperate rooms only if they suspect fraud and if that happens they will grill you and your wife to the minute of details in your daily life.

4) What if they are not satisfied by our interview, would they send me and my wife back? My wife is a citizen since 9 yrs.

if they suspect fraud they could place you in removal proceedings.. not sure as to what they do to a USC.

Do keep in mind that these are the worst case scenarios you could come across..

Good luck and keep us posted

Sachin

Thanks

Sachin:

Thanks a lot for the information.
I am actually checking the box every few minutes to see if there was any help....thanks to you...you lighten my burden...

About the questions asked in the 2000 were hardly anything, as in like seeing the tax papers and it was more of paper work...
as of here.....i don't have much paperwork...
But was wondering if you knew what kind of questions they ask?? About our daily routines?? about how much we know each other? about our sex life?? its scary to answer about the sex life as I and my wife are too shy about this thing....dunno what to answer....

anywaz...thanks a heap for your help......for everyone please let me know if you recently have been into this kinda situation and what were the questions asked......i will surely post every detail of my interview once i finish it...probably it will be helpful to others who are like me...:-)

Thanks all...
R

Rahul,

I haven't gone through such interviews & I basically have no idea what they ask.. but if you have ever watched that movie "Green Card" you can get a brief idea of whats asked.. it can be any thing from what toothbrush color to the tooth paste or favorite song , movie , what side of bed does your spouse sleep on.. that kinda stuff.

I will do some more research and see what I can come up with. But this is pretty much it.. stay calm for the interview and all the best.
