    Keep fighting ....

It seems that many people are a little overjoyed by VSC's switching back to a very slow motion from dead still.

Please don't forget to keep fighting for our cause. We ought to do we should do. VSC needs to approve 6000+ I-458 cases to stop backlog from growing, 7000+ cases to reduce the backlogs gradually. We should see 20+ approvals on Rupnet everyday.

I am not saying we should not appreciate the current approvals. But they still keep I-485 at the lowest priority.

    Any feedback for the petition?

Actual scanning will have better results than rupnet.

Today morning we saw 3 approvals on this forum and it created a big euphoria, but nothing happened after that . Even the rupnet shows just 3 approvals for today. Things are as bad as they were before.

We suppose to send a reminder to the immigration ombudsman by the end of next week. We'll do it if we don't hear from him.

We should try all means even after our cases get approved (for post-GC issues).

Cinta and Edison are you guys approved? Sai, are you still here?

    YJay,
I was just busy at work for last few days, nothing much happened.

The issues we raised through our petition is not just for GC but also for Citizenship, so our fight should continue.

In one post some body mentioned about meeting senator office people and hand over our petition personally. Why can't we do this. I can do this for CT state.

Hi YJay. Edison put it right. The fight continues.
I am trying to make up some time. What is next? Meeting with Senators and COngressmen personally is a great idea. I am gathering also some information about companies, associations, think tanks, influential people, etc. We should also write/send the petition to GAO. See below.

    (a) GAO Says Legal Status Of Unemployed H-1Bs In US Should Be Addressed

The Government Accounting Office of Congress issued a report on
H-1B foreign workers saying "In order to improve program
management, we also recommend that the Secretary of DHS issue
regulations that address the extent to which unemployed H-1B
workers are allowed to remain in the United States while seeking other employment."

    Meeting congress men

I can join the VA team to meet local Senators or congress men. Ofcourse i have one suggestion. Let's ignore the Senators. I think that it is the congress men who introduce bills, not the Senators. I might be totally wrong. I am very weak in American Politics and History. If i am right, then we need to concentrate on meeting the congress men rather than Senators.
Also when we meet these congress men or Senators, we can say that 2500 people have signed a petition sent to BCIS asking it to
reduce the backlogs. We really don't need to wait till we collect the signatures for the yet to be hosted petition to the congress men.
YJay, can you create a separate thread for VA people asking forvolunteers to join us in meeting the congress men and Senators ? Also we need to do some research on which congress men in Virginia, are strongly pro-immigration.

Congressmen should be approached first not Senators. Even if you write to Senators, they reply that If the bill is passed by the House and when it comes to Senate your view will be considered.
    So approach Congressmen first.

    Re: Meeting congress men

    dsatish,

Agreed. I am in district 11 and the house representative is Tom Davis. I sent him our petition through e-mail.

I don't know how may people on this board reside in district 11.

What did you mean by "We really don't need to wait till we collect the signatures for the yet to be hosted petition to the congress men."? Don't you realize the petition to the congress is at the same place as the petition to the immigration ombudsman? The 2500 signature ARE for both petitions (to ombudsman and to the congress) and has been hosted for three weeks.

We can point them to the link and definitely can claim that more than 2500 people signed the petition.

    YJay,
I didn't know that the congress men petition is hosted on this site. After seeing your message, i have gone there and saw it. Now a days, i am missing some info in this forum. I am browsing only for a limited time.
