I-131, Advance Parole and Travel Document

Hello Everybody,

I am a B-2 visitor and my visa has not expired yet but I married a US citizen recently. So, now I am filling up the package concerning Adjustment of my Status.

The only one question is about travelling abroad. When will I be able to do that? What document will I need for that - a Travel Document or a Travel Passport? If I fill the I-131 form, do I fill it as Advance Parole or Re-entry Permit if I don't want to travel DURING the process? And how much time will it take?

Do I need any emergent personal reasons to travel to my home country? Please, could somebody explain me the deal??

File it to the office you file your I-485. Due to the new laws make sure that your visa is valid till you have an interview. If not, then it is better to leave with approved AP and come back as a parolee. I know NY office will give you emergent AP in one day. But only for the death or sickness of a family member. No, home sickness does not qualify ..

Thank you! I have already mailed the whole package to the INS, including the I-131 Form.
My visa expires in the end of November and I suppose the interview will take place a way later, right? Or do you mean the issuance of the Advance Parole?
So, am I supposed to go back to my home country while my visa is still valid and to come back after I get the Advance Parole?
