    Data Consolidation Project

    Hi All,

In an attempt to consolidate the Excel Sheet , I have gone thru the various posts to see who is doing what days:

    SRC01-139 vzexemp
    SRC01-156 vkalya
    SRC01-xxx (JUNE 29, 200) tscnd
    SRC01-246 ukr
    SRC01-248 (AUG 20, 2001) vettipuls
    SRC01-248 goastros
    SRC01-279 eb2_I485_RD0901
    SRC01-280 eb2_I485_RD0901
    SRC01-281 eb2_I485_RD0901
    SRC02-135 SRC02-176 AND SRC01-135 vili
    SRC02-160 Manolacho

If any body is doing more days please add to this list. Once we have significant members we can then consolidate the sheet.

PLEASE share your results and analysis.

    Jaxen the moderator

    I also have
    SRC02-176 - 17th May 02
    SRC02-096 - 1st Feb 02.

Some people have expressed their reservations in giving the actual SRCs on this forum.
Jaxen, what is your opinion if people post their excel sheets with actual SRC numbers?

Or should we take this topic offline and work thru e-mails in collecting the data.
we could then work with Advait's & others to consolidate & make sure we are not duplicating efforts.
    EB2 & Villi & anyone else , you can e-mail at spj318ti@yahoo.com.
    Advait is at advait_k@hotmail.com

I have the feeling that Advait has a different vision. He wants to merge all the data into a big file and later run it to find the updates only. I think he is too ambitious and I don't know about the feasibility of his plan with very limited resources. For each day we need one man week. For 600 days with 20 people we would need 30 weeks.

My analysis needs less data, however, it needs the files without merging. Ideally, one sample day for each month would be enough. But we have to analyze and follow the time distribution more and we want to know more than just the updates.

    Goastros:
Can you ask Advait to share the data (unmerged files ) with us? We can share the analysis.

    Actual SRC

I don't understand, why people have to hide the SRC numbers in the excel files? Those numbers can be obtained by anybody who wants to run the macro. But how can we know their actual numbers among many?

  5. #5
    Villi,

My idea is if we can as a starting point get 01 + early 02 cases, it would be a good start.

So the 01 cases SRC numbers are approx from 01-125 to 02- 160.
==> about 300 days. Now how many "PENDING" 485 cases are in this range is anybodys guess !!. Now note I say pending because we can remove the "Approved" cases from our list. ( No use running the macro on these , it will just waste valuable attempts out of the 1000 max / IP.

The idea is to monitor the "DYNAMICS" not a %.

Also I agree the SRC numbers should not be masked out !

    Advait

I just read Advait's latest post on another forum. He wants to keep the data private only for the contributors for some reasons.
I don't know whether we can make the file public when we work with them.

For our purpose to understand TSC, I would like to keep it open as the analysis needs as many brains as possible. However, if necessary, we can agree to publish only the statistics not the Excel files.

In the Excel files, there is a macro ModifiedScan, it does not scan the approved cases. However, for analysis, we should keep all these cases. It costs no time to run Excel with them in it.

    vili,

    >In the Excel files, there is a macro ModifiedScan, it does not scan the approved cases.
Can you post the Excel file that has the ModifiedScan macro? When I use the "I485Scan" macro, I end up with the "too much usage" error. ModifiedScan might avoid that problem and make things run faster.

    BTW, I can provide SRC-02-039 (50000 to 53282).

For some reason I cannot upload it right now. Can you go to the thread Order Pattern and download the file posted by Goastros ? I have been using that from Goastros. It is really good. ModifiedScan scans only non-approved I-485 cases and saves you a lot of time. Please post the result after you are done.

I am working on SRC01-135. Surprisingly, so many approved cases. I thought that TSC is focusing on 01 files right now but my preliminary result does not support that assumption as until now I see only one case approved in 03. I hope to see more.

    ModifiedScan

    jaysee ,

R U using the modifiedScan Macro. It does not recheck approved cases ..this will increase the numbers you can scan.

See Villi's post in this thread.

can anyone post the modified macro?
I would like to try my range again.

    Full Day data needed

I am glad that we have a lot of participant. If possible please run the whole day as full day data is needed for analysis. If you cannot run full day please let us know then somebody will take care about the rest.

Also if possible please post the Excel data sheet as well, so we can use as a common data source, and later on everybody can run ModifiedScan. If for some reasons, somebody has reservation with posting the Excel data sheets, then please post the statistics with the format on the thread "Order Pattern at TSC" then we can discuss.

I have completed today'quota of SRC01-135 ( correction SRC02-176 is the contribution of Goastros). I believe 1000 cases is the limit and don't want to be blocked by running more.

The result is wonderful: I will post the details and statistics when I have complete result for the whole day. However, if I take
current SRC01-135 as typical result for 2001 ( very rough) and SRC02-135 as typical result for 2002, there are few intesresting
    conclusion I can draw.

I thought that RFE rate must be higher for 2001, but it is also 1% ( this rate is almost for all the data I have had and can be considered as typical RFE rate for TSC and for both 2001 and 2002).

The approval rate for SRC01-135 is 67% and only 13% remains as "Received" ( untouched).

Most of cases were approved between May-October 2002. Only two cases were approved in 2003 ( June 25 and March 10)
So, there is a "blank desert" between November 2002-March 2003 where TSC does not work much on I-485. Also, very little activities go on in 2003 irrespectively 2001 or 2002. I originally thought that TSC is focusing on 2001 now and the approval rate for 2001 should be higher.

My result is not complete as I don't have the full day data for SRC01-135. Don't take it to seriously. I just provide some preliminary informations to share and to inspire common thinking.

    Modified MACRO

I am hoping somebody can post the modified macro.

    As an intrim solution :
    -save copy of sheet.
    -Do Auto fillter.
    -Select all aproved cases.
    -Now you can delete them.
-Now the macro can be run.
-Note you can club various dates under the same sheet name (!)
because the Marco picks the complete SRC #.

If nobody posts it I will look at the marco and try to modify it tonight.

    vili,

You said you have run the macro for 02-135.

Just wanted to know what range of #'s within 02-135 did you run ?

I ran the macro for 02-034-51xxx & 02-034-52xxx and posted the results. I might run for 02-034-50xxx & 53xxx. Are there any applns. with the last five digits beginning in 54/55/56 etc etc ?

    Thx.

    Modified Scan

Here is the Excel files with ModifiedScan macro in it. ( And 2 more Scan485 and MakeChart). They all work fine.
Balaji migh have used a Excel file with many wild cards or invalid case numbers in it. I had got such problem and was blocked for few days. Please use the fresh file if you encounter such problem.

For the first time you should use Scan and put them in different sheets. As the running macro always generate the sheet like SRC02-135, you can rename after one run ( usually 1000 cases a day is the safest limit) to SRC02-13550XXX or SRC0213555XXX.

After you have run the full day data ( when you see a lot of consecutive invalid case number, please stop otherwise you will be blocked for few days and you have reached the boundary of the day), you can merge all the sheets into SRC02-135 and delete other sheets.

From then on, you can run ModifiedScan, which checks only the unapproved cases on the SRC02-135 sheet.

If you want to keep the SRC numbers secret ( in my opinion it is nonsense to do so), you can post the statistics by running Makechart and post the statistics you find on the data sheet together with percentage given on the chart. For my analysis, please post also the following info

    Stat for approval:
    July 2003: 10 March 2003 : 1 November 2002 :100

    Stat of FP sent
    May 2003: 4 July 2002 : 20

    Stat of FP resumed/received

    ......

Monthly statistics of each cases. For more informations please look at the thread "Order pattern at TSC".

Range of SRC for one day

    Jaysee:

I have run for the whole day as described in the previous message. It took me 5-6 days to find the upper boundary is SRC02-1355556 or so as after that the SRC numbers are not valid any more. Now I have full day data for SRC02-135. I believe Goastros has it for SRC02-176 too. As we want to say something about time dependence, the full day data is important as we know for sure there is a queue ( the fisrt one) all these files will pass through on the same day. After that they will go to different paths to reach the final approval. We want to find down how those paths are organised or whether it is true that some guy in TSC throws dice to choose the file to process :-))

    May1:

Can you tell us the range of SRC you have run so we can complete you results if necessary? I guess you alway run from 51000-51XXX ?

    Negotiating to share data

I am "negotiating" to share more data with another forum ( Advait)

    vili,

Dinnu created the ModifiedI485Scan Macro. Here is the link:
    http://boards.immigrationportal.com/...828#post502828

If you think of anyway to improve it, we could ask Dinnu to help us.

Let's hope we can team with Advait's group. It would help to share the work load.

    Hello All,

The inputs from all have been very good.
I will continue to update the list as more members share the load.

Also if somebody has a total # of 485 cases for a particular day, please add it to the post , it will provide useful information.

    Request to Dinnu

Can somebody ask Dinnu ( I suppose he does not read this thread) to modify the Makechart macro or add one more macro to collect time distributions ( for each month) for the approvals, sent FP's, resumed FP's ?

If so we don't need Excel sheets from Advait group, only statistics. Advait seems not to be willing to provide the Excel sheets with SRC.

Ran yesteday and today and it shut me out. So if someone can please run this range for me and email me the results to vettipuls@homtail.com I would appreciate it. I will upload the master file after that.
