VSC I485 Fiscal Yr 2002 - Progress Reports

I'll be posting my scan results and report time to time.
I was able to scan only for partial jan 2002 ND cases. If there are more people to scan and share the results, we can cover more period and have a better picture.
I know many are benefited from this forum. It is time for you to contribute. Spare just 15 minutes a day to scan minimum of 1000 cases and you can pick all 485 cases for a day in just 5 days max. On average there are 300-450 485 cases for a day.

STEPS TO SCAN

1. Inform here which date you are going to scan and make sure that you are not doing the scan for same date some one else is doing
2. Open the following excel attachment
3. Press Ctrl+Z which will open a small window.
4. Enter the first 8 digits of EAC eg EAC02-087
5. Give the range ( usually starts from 50001. So give for eg 50001-50999.) Don't exceed 1000 at a time for a single IP address
6. If you want to scan for the next range, (say next day) copy this sheet to different name and again give same EAC number and next range of 1000. Then cut and paste to combine previous and current sheet.
7. To change proxy open internet explorer or other browser. Goto Menu
Tools..Internet options...Connections...Lan Settings...click Use proxy and then enter Ip address and port info say ok and repeat from step 3.

Thats all. Its is so easy. You can use proxy servers if you would like to scan more on the same day. You can get some proxies for free if you search internet eg:-
www.atomintersoft.com

And also when I click on the small window, it say "The macro in this project are disabled"

Hi brightstar,
It works fine for me. I just checked again. You have to download this file to your computer first and then You have to press 'Enable Macros' When you open the file and when it issues a warning that the document contains macros.

Sorry, it's not clear to me what exactly do you want us to do. Just scan a range of EACs daily? Or do you need actual 485 case numers, as result of running that script?

Many of us scan for our own (in and around) EAC numbers to know status and the results are scattered all over this forum. Currently BCIS is processing Jan02 and Feb 02 ND cases. In order to get accurate results (how many approved and how many pending) we need to pick all 485 cases that fall within these notice dates first. This process will take a long long time if it is done only by single person. So people who have already scanned 485 cases for these dates (for jan ND EAC02-075 to EAC02-099 need to find out for FEB) or willing to scan are welcome. I have already picked cases from 075 to 089. Also JanMM has data for 099. Like wise if more people could scan for other dates, we can complete jan, feb ND cases sooner. Later we can scan for March, April and so on.
Once 485 cases are picked, I'm willing to run status regularly (say every week) and post the consolidated results. Also we can share our data through private messages or by posting here, so that whoever has better tools to analyze the data and publish reports can do that and everybody can be benifited.
Any other suggestions or ideas are welcome....

Please do scan until you get 4 or 5 consecutive "the status of this case cannot found at this time". We can assume that you have got complete list of 485 cases on that date. Usually it does not reach 55000 (so on average you have to scan atleast 4000-5000) to get a complete 485 list for that day.

Also please post your results as excel attachment so that I can add that to my sheet.

Not 50,000 cases. Just 4000-5000 cases and on average few above 4000 cases. You start from 50,000 and mostly by the time you reach 54500 (ie total 4500 to scan), you will receive consecutive 4 or 5 error message "This status cannot be found at this time", and also you will get "you are blocked blah blah" message. (But if 1000 case limit not reached, you can close browser and restart for another day now since this error is because you have given invalid ie non existing numbers consecutively more than 4/5 times) When you reach here, you can comfortably assume that you have scanned all the cases for that day.

This program will exit as soon as access is denied or you are locked out by BCIS and will indicate EAC number at which you were locked out. May be helpful if u don't wan't to constantly watch the scan

Total # of 485 cases is 369 out of 3921.

Got the data psoted by JAN-MMII for 100, and 102-105 series. Not sure if they are complete although they appear so.

I did 164 series and is complete.
