    B1/B2 Issuance, Expiration, Validity, Duration of Stay.

    I am an Australian Citizen and I have several questions concerning the B1/B2 Tourist Visa.

    I worked on cruise ships under a C1/D Visa September 2011 to July 2012. When I received this VISA the consulate officer also gave me a B1/B2 visa (which I didn't apply for) from September 2011 (issue) to September 2012 (expiry).

    I am looking to return to the US in October 2012 (one month after the date of expiration) for a 1 month holiday on a cruise vessel.

    Questions;

    1) Do I need to re-apply for a new B1/B2 Visa or can I extend the current one, and what is the process involved?

    2) Can I enter before the date of expiration and apply for an extension while in the US, would that be simpler task?

    I'm really not sure of my options, hence my post here at the forum.

    I appreciate your help in advance and thank you for your time in replying.

    Questions regarding B2 visa for parents and brother - rejected once for mother and brother

    Hello,

    My mother and brother (19 years old) applied for the B2 visa last year and it was rejected. At that time I was on F1 visa but I was employed. We made a mistake of presenting my mother as a housewife at that time although she had her business.

    This time my mother, father and brother three of them want to apply for the B2 visa. My father is working with Govt. and my mother has her business. My brother is an Engineering student. They are going to apply for the visa together.
    Also, I and my husband are on H1B visa now, working full time in USA.

    I am wondering what are the chances that my brother gets visa this time being a student and applying again. Also what about my mother and father.

    Looking forward to help.

    Thanks!

    0day, you must apply for a new visa if you want to stay for more than 90 days. Since you're staying for fewer, then just enter under the Visa Waiver Program unless you have a criminal record, have overstayed before, etc.

    visa_info, I can't say whether or not his visa will be approved. He has to show ties to the country. When I was a kid in school, my parents were working, and we were issued visitor visas.
