    Asylee checklist for I485 application

    I granted an asylum a year a go ( after case was pending for 3 years). I want to apply for AOS, I found a lot of requirements for the application by some attorneys checklist. I want to know if there is anything missing in this list from people who did apply before:

    Form I-485
    Fee payment checks;
    Form G-325A, Biographic Information Sheet
    Form I-693, Medical Examination, signed and sealed by a designated physician;
    Form I-131, Application for Travel Document (Advance Parole - AP), optional but recommended;
    Passport photos, 2"x2" full face color frontal view on a white or off-white background (although USCIS now uses your photos taken during fingerprint appointment);
    Birth certificate, or other records of your birth
    Passport pages with non-immigrant visas.
    Tax returns for the previous two years;
    W-2 forms for the previous two years;
    Recent pay stubs;
    Degree certificates;
    All previous EAD's including student practical training;
    All I-94 cards used to enter the US;

    Do I have to get letter of support from employer, criminal history (i never have any issues in USA or in my home country), degrees and certificates, pay stubs?
    another questions for 1 94 cards , do they need photocopies or the original cards?

    Please advise

    You are pretty much to the point. However, on the form 485 some of the documents you listed are not required but its good to include them. You don't have to include your W2s, or 1040s. You are not required to file your previous EADs or paystubs. I beleive that sometimes sending too many documents could create opportunities for DHS officers to pose unnecessary questions. Rule of thumb, you don't want to give more info than required.
    Best of luck with your AOS process.

    I have a quick questions. Did you asylum application take 3 yrs at court or asylum office?

    2 years at office (background check), then 1 1/2 at court
    is form I 643 required?

    Form I-643 is just a statistical form, I know couple folks who filed for AOS based on their asylum status and they did not file the form 643. And the result was approval of 485. So I don't know if it is required. The instruction says you should file this form but to be in the safe side, I would definitely send it along the packet.

    Wow 2 years is a long time to wait for a decision in the office. How long your case was pending AFTER your interview at the asylum office till you were referred to court.
    I am currently waiting about 8 months since my interview.
