    Interview experience in Jordan

    Hello forum mates,
I would like to thank you all and specially every one who helped me in the past year.
I'm posting my interview maybe it will help someone in their interview.

Me and my wife arrived at 7:40 am we passed the security door, they took our phones and gave us 2 numbers one for our phones and the second one for the interview, and then we entered a waiting room, we waited there for 10 minutes. and they called our number to submit our documents, he was not American and not nice at all. I did arrange our documents in categories(education,work,birth,....) but he didn't like that at all, he asked to submit all our documents once per each one of us, which I did. Then he searched between a pile of documents trying to hunt what he is looking for. Anyway we submit all our documents and 2 pictures and he asked for affidavit of support so I handed him the form. After that we waited in the same waiting room for 5 min. there wasn't a lot of people waiting, I heard my name asking me to go to window 5 and pay 330USD * 2. After that we waited may be for 10 min. or so and our names came up at window 1, a very nice lady and yes she was American, her smile didn't leave her face what a lovely and pleasant person to speak with, she asked us to submit our fingerprints on the scanner , after that we sat down a little while and our name came up at window 2, American man and he was nice

CO: Please raise your right hands and swear all the information in the documents are true.
    We did.
CO: do you have any relatives in the U.S?
    Me: both my cousins.
    My wife: my brother.
    CO: do you have kids?
    Me: No.
    My wife: I am pregnant.
    CO: Can you travel?
My wife: yes. I'm 5 months now.
CO: can you give me a second.
    Me: take your time.
He did search between the documents a little bit and then he left the booth and came back with a paper in his hand.
CO: all your documents in order but we have to put your case under administrative processing so I'm gonna return your passports in case you will need them and gave us the refusal paper with X mark on the first point. He told us you will be notified once your case ready, to submit your passports through Aramex.
So we took our passports and say thank you and went home. At 9:30 am :-)

I hope I will get my visa before 30 sep, so wish me luck guys
    Thanks for reading my post.

    Thanks for reading my post.

I remember your struggle with the X-ray on your wife. The visa is yours its just that they have to double check names and everything being from middle east. Its a common case even in this forum. Keep up the positive attitude and you will make it.

Thanks man for stopping by, and thank you for your comforting words.

I am sure you will get your visa, "Inshalah". I am also from Jordan. My wife is a DV 2013 winner. I wanted to ask you Firas about the document you submitted to US embassy in Amman, especially the marriage certificate. Was it the one obtained from civil status department or the one fom "sharii" court "katb el kitab"? and if so did you translate it?

Thank you hussam, and inshallah you get your visa also.

The answer for your question is both of them are required and yes they want a translation for the katb el ktab

    What is your case number?

Thank you Firas for your help. My case number is 2013AS00007XXX. So when do you think my interview will be?
Also I have other questions. Did you need your family extrct "daftar el eila " "دفتر العائلة" during the interview?
Also regarding the translation, should it be certifified or it should also be notarized?

    I appreciate your help.

Well honestly I don't really know because the visa bulletin has not been issued for 2013 winners yet, but if they consider moving forward with the process the same way as this year I think your interview will be on Jun/Jul 2013.
That being said I think you will do just fine and hopefully you will get your visa sooner.

Anyway for the daftar el eila, they didn't ask for it and for your last question the translator must be competent to translate, if you live in Amman you will find a lot of translation offices all around the embassies. Mostly they charge 5 J.D per document but maybe they will charge more on the Katb el Kitab.

If you need anything else, I will be more than happy to help

    What a great day :D

    Dears,
Today I brought with me a very good news....

Today I picked up my visa yaaaaaaaaaaaaahoooooooooooo

Okay let me tell you all about it, after one week from my interview I started to check the US Embassy website everyday and when I say everyday I mean literally everyday and everyday I got frustrated when I saw the same old sentence "your application is under Administrative Processing".

On 11-Jul-2012 I checked the website, I entered my Passport No. as usual and tadaaaaaaaa the sentence was changed to

"Case Status: As of 27-Jun-2012, your passport is required for additional processing. Please submit the documents listed below to the US Embassy via Aramex within 90 days of the date listed above. Barring unforeseen circumstances that may require additional processing, we hope to adjudicate your application within five to fourteen days from the date we receive your passport. Click here for more information on the Aramex Courier Service. Thank you.
    -Your Current Passport"

So when I saw it I was like jumping all around, I was at my office, so I left everything and went home picked up our passports and then went straight ahead to Aramex office and submitted them there.... in the way back to my office I started thinking why on earth they updated the case on the website after 2 weeks !!!! and I was like who cares as long as we got our visas.

Anyway Aramex so lazy they deliver the package on 16-Jul-2012, 5 days to deliver a domestic package that is beyond lazy, anyway today I received the package containing 2 big sealed envelops and our passports with our visas on of them.

So guys be optimistic on this I wish you all get your visa like we did.
I really wish you all the best of luck

    Cooooooooooooooooooongs. Enjoy the moment!
