marriage certificate, Copy of your spouse Passport, his H1 approval notice, copy of his I-129 Petition certified by the lawyer who filed his H1.Copy of his W-2 and his latest pay stubs and his employer letter that he is employed with them. FYI at this time Consulates ask lot of Documents and your spouse or his employer should be ready to provide the documents and his company lawyer knows what document you will need. If the consulate ask for marriage Photographs inform them the reality and one can have photographs at Registrar of Marriage office.

Your Passport, application form fees, Photo. FYI the US consulate prefer that your spouse name should be on your passport and many change the Passport and get new Passport with married Last name or Surname .
FYI at this time Mumbai US consulate does not accept H1 or H4 visa stamping applications as they are going to relocate to new Location in Bandra East in 2-3 months and one can get H1 or H4 from any Consulate in India.
For more info your spouse should talk to his company lawyer or read the Exp of H4 visa stamping in other thread .

We have all documents OK with us, only have concerns for the photograph and the way of marriage as I have not seen any clause or details on any website official mentioned way n docs for H4 for register marriage.

One can get married at court and can get marriage certificate. US consulate can’t force you to marry with conditions that one should get married with ALL the relatives or at Temple, Gurudwara, Church or at home or in particular Hotel or at Running train top. It is your choice and they only need marriage certificate for the evidence of marriage of A to B according to Indian law.
