Honeymooning outside US after getting married (from K1 fiance visa)

    Hello,

I'm an American citizen. My fiance will come to the states this June on a fiance Visa. The next day she arrives i'll take her to City Hall and marry her.

My question is, how soon can I take her on a honeymoon trip outside the states after we get married? Days or weeks? And what's the procedure for this? Should we apply for an advance parole? How if so?

Ideally I would love to take her on a honeymoon trip a day or two after we get married. And of course we both are returning to the States for good 2 weeks later

I know for a fact that a fiance visa is a single-entry visa, so I'd really appreciate if someone can help me and give me directions. A rough estimate of the timeline would be great too!

    Many thanks,
    Sherif

If your fiance (then wife) leaves the US before she has AP in hand then she will be unable to gain re-entry to the US unless she has a spousal visa.

If you want to leave the US for a honeymoon then it is vitally important that she applies for advance parole...you do this when you apply for her adjustment of status.

Heres the guide for Adjustment of Status.

The AP document is form I-131 and will be filed with the rest of your AOS forms. From filing you can expect anytime between 2-3 months to receive AP.

Back in 2002, I entered the US on 11/21, married on 11/22, applied for AOS on 11/26 and had my AP the same day. I then honeymooned in Australia and New Zealand. I am pretty sure such a time line is not possible now, but with proper planning and a little luck, an overseas honeymoon can be experienced.

I applied for AP in August 08....I received notice that it had been approved 64 days after filing....and then had it in hand 5 days later.
