Thread: New PROCESSING dates for district offices?

  1. #1

New PROCESSING dates for district offices?

The District Office - PROCESSING dates for N-400 were supposed to be posted today? But I don't see them. When are they going to be posted? The last update was feburary 15, and they were supposed to be posted every month. Now we are 1 week over the time limit.

  2. #2
They usually take about a week more than the update date to post the new processing times. That should put it either this evening or early next week.

This is rather odd...it's definitely taking them longer than normal to update the processing dates. Perhaps its because many DOs didn't meet the goals?

Perhaps the person who normally updates the processing goals took an extended holiday from Good Friday to Easter Monday and USCIS didn't proactively think about having someone else update the website instead. Kinda like USCIS didn't think about proactively hiring more workers before the big rush in applications last year.

Precisely. Also, I doubt that updating processing dates is very high on their priority list. I'm sure we'll see them sometime before next week is over.

You got that right! In our situation, comic relief is absolutely necessary. Someone else speculated that I'll get my IL this Friday, but I doubt it's gonna happen. As evidenced by the pattern that emerged over the past couple of months, NYC applicants have been receiving their ILs between the 17th and the 23rd days of the month. I think mine will be in the next month's rounds.

More to it than that, I think. They haven't updated their monthly statistical report for February yet either. I'm tending to the view that all this has to do with the report to congress.

Perhaps the person or team who crunches the numbers for the report followed Gonzalez and resigned.

I tend to agree. If they post a bunch of random dates (i.e., past processing updates) onto the website just to give us something to chew on, and later find out that there are significant discrepancies between the "goals" and ACTUAL times, it can come back to bite them in the *** at the Congress hearings.

Still no update, these incompetent, heartless guys in INS...

I seem to remember from my AOS times that they tend to do what looks like "batch" updates sometime on Friday evening. I might be completely wrong, but I would expect the processing times be updated before Saturday morning.

They are pretty useless, but in some cases it gives a good indication of progress trends. In my case I am looking at N-600 processing in San Jose, that in the last couple of processing times reports was actually speeding up a bit (jumping a couple of monts in the monthly report). I hope this time it jumps two or three months. Anyway, it seems bogus as the processing time instead of slowing down was "retrogressed". I guess they try their own way to give you an idea of how many months of wait to expect.

    My 2 cents
