I AM ON H1B AND IF IN CASE I WISH TO APPLY FOR GREEN CARD IN ABSENSE OF ANY RELATIVE OR IN ABSENSE OF SPONSORSHIP OF GREEN CARD TH. MY EMPLOYER WHEN AND HOW I WILL APPLY FOR THE SAME WITH INS. IS THERE ANY TIME RESTRICTION FOR APPLYING THE SAME AFTER GETTING H1B. PLEASE PUT SOME LIGHT ON THIS ISSUE.

You must have a US citizen relative or an employer sponsor you for a green card unless you qualify for an exceptional ability alien or professor/researcher. These types are self petition. There are a few other ways by investing/starting a business, etc. but I don\'t know all the details for those.
