J-1 has met 2-year foreign residency requirement, does this waive J-2’s 2-year duty?

J-1 has met 2-year foreign residency requirement, does this waive J-2’s 2-year obligation?

My husband (J-1) has been home for 3 years. I am trying to apply for H-1b now. Do I still need to leave for 2 years / apply for a waiver?
Or because my husband has met the requirement, I am not subject to the 212 (e) requirement any more?

Please advice.

J2 has no status of itself without J1 (no offense to J2's). If J1 is cleared of 2 year requirement, J2 is automatically cleared. Check with international visitors office with J1's university/company.
