How to Verify Name Check Status?

Hi,
I received in mail that my AOS interview date is 6/26. I am wondering how to know if my name check has been completed. My lawyer said that the LUD indicates the name check status, but I don't trust my lawyer since he isn't exactly computer savvy; he still uses dial-up internet in his office.

As I can see that quite a few people get stuck in the name check process, I am afraid that I might get stuck in the process.

Is there a way to check the status?

Don't forget to add ur full name, ur date of birth and ur alien admission number(if any).

Hi aniretake,

Just out of curousity - so you are saying that we can call the numbers mentioned below and ask them if it is done when we have a pending interview date (urs being in the same range as mine).

Have u tried it / or has anybody else tried it? The reason I am asking is because I guess all of us are anxious about name check before we appear for the interview !!!!!

I was trying to call from the FBI for Name check but they claim they cannot give the information. Did they give this information to any of you.

I just called FBI for name check (main line ). The lady said that they don't have that anymore, and when I asked if there was another number or another way that I can get an answer. She said "No".

Anybody else tried?

Unfortunately FBI doesn't give such info.

You may try to make an InfoPass and ask if your name check was cleared...they may tell you, they may not...but you can try.

Do you now if they need to do name check in order to issue EAD?
They lost my FP so I had to do it again so I am wondering if they have to do name check how much they will slow me down?

EAD approval does not require FBI namecheck.

Thank you for answering my question. I checked today and FBI has recieved my FP and they send it to INS to process.Lets see how long it will take tham this time.Thank you very much for your help.
