Hello Folks

Please post your EAD timeline here so others waiting can get an idea how long EAD takes to get approved. This table is only for EAD applicants in the c(9) category who have applied for a family based GC.

Could someone please answer my question?
My husband applied for an EAD, all we want to know is if he needs to go get his fingerprinting done as a walk-in or do we have to wait to recieve a notice to call and make an appointment? Also what is the cost to get these done?His ND is August 10 '05. We would really appreciate a relpy, thanks.

If you know his ND, that means you already received the NOAs. if the NOA asks you to call the 1-800 number to make an appt. for FP, then I guess you should go ahead and call the no. and make the appt. and depending on how long you have to wait for the FP appt., you can try to do a walkin to the nearest center. But , if the NOA asks you to wait for the FP appt. letter from them (which seems to be the new procedure), then you have to wait for the appt. letter.

FP/Biometrics fees of $70 is included with the I-485 fees, hence you dont have to pay extra for FP.

Just received message stating that my EAD is approved today.

To those still waiting: seems to me the approval email always sent on Tuesdays and Thursdays (night), also the updates for NBC processing date.

Actually I have scheduled walk-in appointment on 9/2, now it save a trip for me.

This has taken really long for me. 2 days away from 90 days. Plus the delay and Plus the time we wait for name check happened in the application for my husband's citizenship (13 months).

The 765 receipt notice stated that USCIS would schedule my FP. But I went ahead and scheduled it myself and completed it today. Could this be a problem down the line?

My Timeline thus far:

EAD application mailed: Aug 17
Receipt Date: Aug 18
Checkes Cashed: Aug 24
FP/Biometrics: Aug 31

My receipt notice asked me to wait for the FP appointment in the mail but I called the 800# and got the FP done today. Will this cause a problem down the line? Does the USCIS dictate when I can get my FP done? A bit worried now.

I just got the email today, saying that my EAD application was approved 8/31/2005. Yes! It looks like they have moved past the posted processing date.

Good luck folks. I will post when I receive the actual letter and card.

If it matters to anyone, I live in California, and we sent all our stuff to the Chicago National Benefits Center.

I received the same instructions but went ahead and called the USCIS 800# and got the appointment. Completed FP yesterday. Hope this won't cause a problem.

Hello all,
Need your opinion on this one. Till now, the total number of days shown in the table were calculated from the RD to the AD. We all know that the actual processing for the EAD starts from the ND. So for information sake, I have added a new column in the excel sheet to show the total days from the ND to the AD. Those numbers might actually bring a smile on your face

.

Pl let me know if you wish to see both timelines or only one and also which one. I have only updated the excel sheet for now. Will take action as per the decision here.

Thanks for spicing up the table in excel format... It is much more readable..
Actually, I don't mind if you just keep the Excel sheet updated with the detailed columns and post just a concise version on the first post... This will reduce the amount of data entry you have to do...

Those who need details can just look at the excel file...

Does anybody know the implications of taking an appointment for FP on your own when the USCIS say that they will send an appointment letter seperately?

Im not sure of this new procedure. In my opinion, you could walk-in and have your FP done as long as you know your ASC codes. Some users here have done a successful walk-in for FP after giving up waiting for the FP appt letter to arrive in mail. Once done with FP, you could call the FBI number to check if they processed your FP and returned the results back to USCIS.
