Others: { All comments pertaining to c(9) category mailed at NBC }
--After a month of tracking and seeing all that is happening to EAD approvals for c(9) category, I thought I might add a few comments.
--You can already see the time it is taking for the EAD approvals { from 52 to 69 days in general }.
--Once you get the approval notice online the physical EAD card arrives in 4 days to 10 days. { If 14 days have passed make sure to call NBC }
--If your EAD has already been approved online but you have not done yor FP/BIO, the EAD card will arrive in 4 days to 10 days after you complete your FP/BIO. And once again make sure to call NBC if it does not arrive after 14 days.
FYI----Please make sure to send your medical (I-693) with I-485/I-130/I-765 applications. Unless you do so it seem to be the cause of RFE which might delay on your EAD approval.

All these I believe are family based EAD's and are processed at NBC (chicago lockbox)

I have not requested expedited processing , it was regular.I sent my papers on april 20, 2005 and they recieved it on april 22, 2005 and recieved NOA on May 10, 2005 and finally my I-765 and I-131 got approved on June 17, 2005

I had send in my I-130 and 1-485 in April. So I had the appointment for that on June 7th. Just before the day of the FP for I-485 I received the receipt of I-765 which I had send out in first week of may. So I took the receipt of the I-765 at the appointment I already had for I-485( I had called 42 days earlier to set up the appointment). And thats how i got my fp done.
the confusion you got was because I send in my I-130/I-485 earlier...because at that time i wasn't aware that i could apply for ead. So i sent the I-765 in May.

The list however includes all family based first time ead s applied to NSC.
Anyways...keep posting and let us know when it gets approved...maybe I'll make another table for online ead timeline.

Hello guys,
I just completed my FP & Bio today (06/21/05). The original appointment was on 07/30/05, but just gave it a try by walk- in. When I reached the receptionist, she asked if I have an appointment, I said no and she said " dont mention here onward that you dont have an appointment, just fill this form and wait for your number to be called" Woww!! that was something I didnt expect. Well cheers!! for that helpful & kind lady and the boston center.

Now back to the waiting time ....

Just for the record...
NBC is now processing I-765 (Application for emnployment authorization), Based on a pending I-485 adjustment application c(9) with receipt notice date of April 25 2005 as of June 21 2005.

Most people here I would say 90% + filed for I-130, I-485 and I-765 concurrently at NBC.
I however on the other hand filed my I-765 after a month and a half of mailing I-130/I485

No Zoomzoom, I filed everything concurrently but my application was an upgradation of status from a GC holder's spouse to a USC's spouse.
I wonder why the delay is.

Hopefully your case would be straight as most others and you will get your EAD in time. Also, thanks a ton for timely compilations- I find this forum rather useful and informative. Good Luck on your case!

My work authorization from NBC is still pending but I went to my DO in Boston today and they issued me an Interim EAD(even though it has not been 90 days yet) that is valid till the end of Feb next year. Just wanted to let you all know that it might be just worth taking a chance at your district office if the NBC is processing cases beyond your date.

Hope that info. would be helpful to anyone who happens to be in a similar situation.

Tried the Walk-in Route today successfully!! The FP and bio was completed and was out of the ASC in 30-minutes or so!
Now, I guess the new wait period begins...

Please provide details of what paperworks you took to the DO ? Did you make any appointment? What was the reason you told them for your Interim EAD? Is it valid for only 8 months? etc

I only took my reciept notices and a letter of offer for employment starting the 1st of June. I told them that I was waiting for the approval but now NBC has starting processing cases beyond my reciept date of 19th April.The lady in the DO just looked at something on the screen and then told me that I need to fill a form , which was a request for work permit. She then stamped it for approval and sent me to another room where my work permit was made and given to me in less than 30 mins.
