Recently my mother-in-law's B2 visa got rejected ,the reason that was told was that she dosen't qualify for section 214(b).
There were 3 questions asked during the interview
1.What is your daughter doing in US?
Reply: She is a house wife
2. What is your son-in-law doing in US?
Reply : He is a Software Engineer with 1.5 years of H1 visa period remaining
3.Duration of visa required and what is your husband doing?
Reply: 6Months and husband taking care of unmarried son in Chennai
My father-in-law owns a house in Chennai and this was the document which she carried along with family photos to show the ties. Infact both of my in-laws parents are living in Chennai and theirs were also part of the photos that were produced for the visa interview.
One of my family well wisher is telling that we can send an email or write a letter to US Consulate in New Delhi,Indian Consulate in Washington and to the American Foreign secretary ,that my wife is in a depressed state and wants to see her mother desperately and rightnow she is not in a position to travel due to her health conditions and to request 30 days to 60 days of visa for my mother-in-law to see her daugter.
Please tell me is this approach is feasible or not.
Any of your suggestion will be highly appreciated.
