You don't have to be present in person, someone else can receive the passport from Blue Dart.Originally Posted by h1beb2waiting
You need to either have the Blue Dart bill, if you have send the documents via Blue Dart or the copy of the passport that VFS returns you with a stamp on it if you have submitted the documents in person.
Passport will be returned to the address you mention in DS156 form field 15.
Anyone with the above mention document can receive the passport at that address.
You don't have to put the Original passport in the package.Originally Posted by shinlee
You will need to carry it at the time of your interview.
Refer to their website for details,

I received same reply from them. Saying they forwarded it twice. I had given my office address but somehow it was returning back to them due to our policy violations. Which I came to know when I asked them to send to my yahoo ID. Which I received it today.Originally Posted by rp1975
Ask them to forward it to your yahoo or hotmail ID.
You will get it.
Thanks for the dates.
I believe you have to have a copy of the PP to show to BD fellow.Originally Posted by iminus

Passport Delivery Instructions::
Your passport will be returned to you within 3-4 working days after your personal interview at the American Consulate.
Your passport will be delivered to you at home address noted on the visa form unless you have indicated that you require the same to be returned at your office address.
At the time of delivery of your passport you will be required to handover the Airway Bill issued to you by Blue Dart when collecting your application pack. Blue Dart will not deliver the passport if the Airway Bill is not surrendered.
It is not essential for the passport holder to receive the passport in person- however the receiving person must have the pick up Airway Bill.
This is regarding the stamping of our passport for our H1 visas. My wife and I both have our individual H1 visas. I did make an appointment for the interview in my name and I have included my wife’s name in the same appointment for December 2004.
1. So basically we would each get our passports stamped. Is this is the way how the appointment would work?
2. Also it asks me to send the photocopy of the I-797 of the principal applicant. But since she also possesses a valid H1, I should send the photocopy of her I-797 as well right?
3. So if all the above is true, then she does not need to schedule a separate appointment …right?
Please do let me know.
Thanks,

warko01,
The best thing to do is write to info@visa-services.com.
They will reply you in 24 hours. I have sent emails couple of times and have good experience.
Thanks neekatul! I have already done that this morning. But since it would a weekend over in India...it would take a couple of days for me to get the response.Originally Posted by neelatul

Does anyone know if there is a way to send the required documents for the appointment confirmation from USA thru Blue Dart or has it to be from Mumbai address only?Originally Posted by warko01

warko01,
I have sent my all papers to my relative in Ahmedabad thru USPS. My relative is going to hand over the bunch of papers along with drafts in Rupees to Blue Dart office personally on Monday. I will let you know once I receive confirmation from the consulate.
Thanks for the information neelatul (sorry for misspelling the last time). Yes I plan to do the same by sending it to my parents in Mumbai but just wanted to check if anything of that sort is possibleOriginally Posted by neelatul

Also I assume that on the Visa Application Form DS-156, in the column #15 for Home Address you have entered the Local Address in India where your passport would be later mailed after the interview.. right?
Thanks,

Yes, I have entered my local address in India as home address.Originally Posted by warko01

Does anyone know if I obtained the dates online today, and went to the office in Pune to set up an appointment today, do I get the same option of dates, as I would have gotten online?
FYI..the online website as of Oct 20th is giving available dates starting Tuesday Dec 21 thru Wed Dec 29th

Hi Folks,
I'm planning to go to India in Feb-2005 and I'll be getting my visa stamped in Mumbai. www.visa-services.com site doesn't mention about the process for sending the papers for people outside India. I'll have to take the appointment for my interview/finger printing. 30 days prior to that, I've to send the papers to the INS office in Mumbai so that they can send me the appointment letter and date confirmation email.
I'm checking this thread and it seems that I've to mail those papers to my relative in Mumbai and then they've to send it via Blue Dart. . Please let me know the exact process so that I can send the papers from here with the required fees and I can make my stamping process a smooth one.
Thanks
Thanks for the quick reply engr80.Originally Posted by engineer80
What you believe is right, atleast for me. After booking the appointment, I sent my papers to a relative and then he submitted the cover to Blue Dart. I got the response back thru email in 24 hrs.Originally Posted by ranjanjain_11
In this thread, some of the folks were having visa appointments for Nov 1st/2nd week, It would be really great if they can post their stamping experience at mumbai consulate.
Thanks
DO NOT CARRY ANY BRIEFCASES, LEATHER BAGS, LADIES PURSES.
They don't allow that. If at all u got any of the items like that then towards left of the
embassy there is a parking lot where u can keep ur bags for some cash
No cells, pagers, electronic items(organisers, cals, etc), smoking products, tobacco,
supari, stapers ....
H1/H$ revalidation, Nov 1st 2004 8:30 appointment
Arrived at the gate at 7:50, lost 10 minutes to take care of my wife's purse. They make u
stand ina queue for few minutes. There wasn't a rush, abt 40 ppl.
Got inside, clear security and collected a small wooden block with a number (u need to keep
it and return it when leaving)
After entering there is a counter on the right side, show ur papers there.
I had sent papers thru blue dart.
the lady asked for,
I 797
I129 petition
Questionnaire form
Marraige certificate
She put them in separate yellow envelope for both of us and gave 2 pink slips for each of us with the appt no. on it
Stood in q for window 1 for fingure printing.
Then waited for our no.s to be called for almost 15 minutes
The lady at the counter was american and polite too.
She asked me,
How long I have been working with the company
How much is my salary
TO my wife :
How long have we been married
She looked at marraige certificate and no more documents were asked.
We were out by 9:15.
It was very smooth and no problem.
All the best to u!!!!
