We don't need fax/e-mail campaigns any more. We should be satisfied with the current I-485 process at the CSC.
I really don't care.

I still feel that we have to continue with efforts with whoever voluntarily sends these faxes.
If it is too much of a pain for one person to coordinate due the response from the folks, then I am not sure what we should really do.
One option is to suspend all activity instead of completely stopping it.
There has been no doubt that the approval rate seems to be increasing. I was lucky to get approval even when I am 2.5 months later than JIT
However, since the process continues to be unpredictable and not transparant, (even error prone as I have experienced) - it is best to continue to lobby to try to make lasting changes to BCIS. eg. Some of the people in the board will definitely be applying for citizenship. On the day I got stamping, I helped a guy (unable to converse fluently in English) who had waited 1.5 years for interview and then another (still continuing) wait since 1.5 years. He was told that his name check had been pending for 1.5 years and that it will still take a 'long long time' (IIO words).
As golumolu suggests - we can suspend the 485 approval campaign for lack of participataion and reinstate them if approval rates drop or applicants continue to get approved randomly.
Also, it will be good if the lawsuit is given more publicity by posting a link to the discussion pertaining to it in each forum. It takes a while for a new participant to hunt down the threads that discuss the lawsuit.

In my thoughts Project Cosmos failed. New campaigns started by you (Kashmir) also failed. Constant approvals are driving people into a mode of waiting and watching rather than participating and making this pattern a "consistent" pattern.
As for me, I will still continue to participate in campaigns as i am not yet "approved". Hey this is a forum...right?
I have to bring this up.....Couple of weeks back there was a thread posted by dsatish about "deciding on the money collected". I blamed inactivity/lack of motivation of the core team for not getting enough money for hiring a lobbyist. He came down saying "Just because you contributed doesn't give you the right to point fingers at others....blah...blah...We also work, so shut the f***k up". Now, with that attitude and also driven by no-motivation, why do you think anybody will participate in campaigns etc.,
I don't want any back firings etc., on this post but hey, today, i will prefer to be a silent visitor than shot in the face by one the core team members.
I think the campaigns should continue. Ridiculous to shut it down when it has been so useful and effective. Maybe the direction needs to change a bit with more visibility and campaigns that are easier to participate in, like maybe an HTML format, where you enter your email id and hit send. Since most people copy paste the same old messages in any case.
Also, as sfbay_area_guy mentioned, the poll is extremely misrepresentive. It fails to take into account the silent lurkers who might participate in polls but don't participate in threads.
And since I have yet to see one of the nay sayers come out and explain their point of view, I think we can pretty much ignore them since they wouldn't scratch their heads if it itched, they were never involved in any decision making process.

Kashmir,
You need to understand how a typical visitor is going to react to a poll like this. By giving those two options as some body put it "dark VS no light", you are givng the impression that things are only dark or no light. A typical visitor need not go through all the posts in a Poll. So I guess the poll it self is flawed.
And about the recent compaign failures, there might be lot of reasons, and one sure might be the increase in approval rating. Remember this is Summer, and typically for most of the people it is vacation time, children out of school, vacationing, outdoor activities these kind of things pre-occupy most of the people and they may not find enough time and drive to participate in compaigns.
There are few people who are very motivated to participate in these compaigns, and I repeat there are only a few, most of the people who participate in these activities are volounteers. So if there is a dip in participation I think that is temporary and lets continue the compaigns.

It has just started and I resumed faxing this week.
I believe many people will join in a couple of weeks.
If most of CSC forum members really think we don't need a fax/e-mail campaign any more, I will move it to another forum (together with another infamous project).

I think the increased approval rate is at least partly due to our campaigns, so I vote that we continue.

Shouldn't we add another option as "continue with email/fax campaigns" ? If somebody wants to select this choice, how can they do it with two otpions ?Originally Posted by kashmir

Here is the latest data, and I believe that the I-485 backlog at the CSC is decreasing slightly (but not significantly).
