All,
I went to arlington office to get my renewed EAD card. During this time I asked the IIO regarding my 485 application, he randomly said 20 months. Then I asked him again as to when I can expect a interview notice and he said by the end of this year. I couldn\'t believe what he said, I asked him again, he said may be before summer.

So, from all this, I found out one thing that there is no use of asking them how long does it take. When I asked him three times, he gave me three different answers. It is purely based on luck. So, just relax and let it come to you.

Hope I am not disappointing anybody but thats the truth.

How long did it take for them to call for EAD appointment.

Mine was trasnfered Dec 4rth and EAD is expiring on Jan 31st.

I hope to get a call before that, if not can i take all papers and
will they issue me an EAD?

I applied for EAd in september and I haven\'t heard anything from the Arligton office even after 90 days. So I went in one day and said Its been 3 months since i applied for EAD. then they asked me to come back in three days to pick up the card.

If you apply for renewal, even if your EAD expires it does not matter.
So, My suggestion is to wait for three months to complate from your notice date on EAD application then take the Transfer notice and Receipt notice and get it in person.

If your case is transfer to local INS office (Arlington), what is the normal timeframe to get the interview call?
I have been moved to PA but still using the same old address for correspondence(my relatives address). I was wondering if Arlington takes much longer than Philadelphia, I better inform INS about my new address so that I get transfered there instead of Arlington in case of interview.

Can we pick up EAD after 90 days of submitting even when the local office has never sent back a receipt notice?

Folks:
Sorry about not being able to post my experience sooner. A few days back I finally got my interview appointment from INS, Arlington. The interview itself was slated for Jan 17th and the letter was exactly the same as the ones recd by IEXP and GC4VP.

We arrived at the INS building about an hour before the designated time. Contrary to what I had imagined, there was not even one person waiting to get into the INS office, so we simply went through the security and went up to the 3rd floor. Waited for our attroney to arrive, then slipped the appt letter through the slot about 20-30 mins before interview. Nervously waited and chatted till we were called, about 20 minutes after the designated interview time. The nice black lady was very polite and seemed to be in a good mood. She took my finger print & signature and got us seated in her office. Within a couple of minutes, she verified some of my personal and prior immigration status information, reading straight from my I-485 application. Finally asked for employment verification letter, tax returns for last 3 years and past EADs/APs. Threw away the EADs/APs, asked for Passport, put that "dirty", albeit so precious red stamp in the passport and congratulated me!! Said the stamp was good for a year and the plastic GC should arrive in a few months. That was it. It was over in about 5-10 minutes.

For your convenience, the case briefly: EB-2/India; PD 3/99; ND 1/00; Tfr 05/01; Int 01/17/02.

The feeling is still sinking in and its a nice feeling.

For the folks still waiting, hang in there. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Wish you all the very best.

That is a fabulous news rvaldez. Congrats for the GC. You would be even surprised now when you (and co-applicants) will get the GC real soon.

Contrary to what the IIO told you during the interview (that you will get the card in 6 months), don\'t be surprised when you get the GC is a month\'s time (ours came in 3 weeks).

Approved on 11\26\01 no pp stamping.I received my card on 1\28\02 after submitting new photographs on 1\3\02.

My lawyer got my FP notice 2/1/02 from Arlington office requiring me to take FP (new) again. I got my FP done earlier in sep 2000. My lawyer said that arlington sometimes requires this to keep the FP records uptodate for interview. I got the FP done again on 02/02/02 saturday. He also mentioned that another client of his also got the same FP request along with the interview appt letter so mentioned that I should expect the interview soon. Hopefully it should be soon. Anyone else got any updates to share.

How did you manage to show the medical documents ?

   Actually we recently filed for 2nd 485 application (through my wife\'s company) & we got the medical done so we had duplicate copies of the recent medical reports. We showed them to the doctor and got them sealed/stamped, etc. However the officer did not ask us to show the medical reports.

   I think you and ACE are way past their interview criteria rules.. You should go to the local office and ping them. That might bring your case to their attention.

I pinged them over and over to the point where I may have pissed them off!

4 weeks ago my lawyer set up a meeting with an Arlington INS supervisor and the outcome was that I should be getting my interview notice in about 3 weeks. I still have recieved NOTHING!

My lawyer visit cost me another $1000 ( which my company gracefully reinbursed me for).

I did everthing possible, I wrote letters to 2 senators, I wrote to my govenor, I been to Arlington a half a dozen times. All thats left is writing to the President.

I have an image of my file being squished up behind a file cabinet gathering dust, while sitting on top of Danush\'s application.

Danush, where are u? Did u get your interview date?
