I have just checked the list of signature for Backlogs in I-485 Processing, and found the following message almost at the bottom.

I am perhaps the worst affected because of the I-485 processing delays.My husband is the primary applicant on our Green Card application. Our AOS receipt date is Septemeber 2001. Since then we were patiently waiting for about 28 months for our I-485 approval. In the midst of this, the most unfortuante thing happened. My husband passed away on Feb 2004 and I am told that the US Govt. can do nothing to give me any kind of support. Had this delay not been there and our papers processed within the time promised, may be I shouldn't have to leave the country within a week as I did now. I want someone to lend an ear to my problem and do something to help me out. I have been working all through my stay in the U.S which about seven years have been paying my taxes.Along with my husband we had literally put our lives on hold until we got our Green Cards. If the Govt. can bring in some motion into protecting such people, atleast in the future someone wouldn't have to go through what I am going through now.

It might be too late, but I have sent e-mail to my representative Anna Eshoo today.
I am not sure whether Congressperson or Senator can help such an issue or not.

Actually, I got involved in a car accident, and I might have been almost killed, so I'd like to do everything I can do.

There was a similar situation for a person in VSC too. Maybe they might get approved without RFE, as long as the petition is not withdrawn.

However, the CSC issues RFE to almost all cases.

Anyway, USCIS and the CSC I-485 processing delay deprives her of her status.
She is a victim of discrimination by the Goverment.

Aram has been in touch with me. The govt. has indicated they can do nothing. The only way she can be helped is if a Congressman were to take up her case and present a Private Bill for her green card.

Let us know if you want more people to call/send faxes to Anna Eshoo's office with regards to this case. I think it is important for us to stand together in helping someone whose case is similar to what could happen to any of us.
