It's the best chance to let Congressperson listen to our messages.

Not that I am trying to rain on anyone's parade, but I am not sure any more if Pete Stark is our guy. He is extremely reluctant to help anyone who does not live in his district. He does not want to be in the forefront of ground breaking legislation for immigration. Nor does he want to help the community, instead he/his office prefers to help individuals.

We had a couple of people who were assigned to track him, but nothing came of it.

While I would show up at the meeting if everyone wants a show of hands, I would rather pursue better leads like Zoe/Anna/Honda who are more inclined to help us and are more receiptive to people outside their districts. And are willing to help the community as a whole instead of individuals.

I agree. But I am thinking once again in public let us ask him few questions and give him one try. because whenever we tried to track him in his office ,it is in his absence as we use to talk his office staff. If he come for this meeting we will have direct talk with him by way of question answer. Pls let me know your thoughts.We can even discuss with him that how Zoe/Anna/Honda are helping us /. May be he can also think on that .

Definitely count me in, I will be there for the town hall. What you say makes sense, we shouldn't give up just because we are rebuffed, instead we should show our tenacity and remind Pete Stark that at some point of time we will become Citizens and when we have our vote, along with that of our families we will remember this time.

Interestingly, if you see his voting record, he was extremely anti-India till a few years ago, when his contituency was re-aligned and Fremont areas with a heavy Indian population became part of his constituency. It is only after that, he has stopped his anti-Indian crusade and though, he knows all the key players in Washington he won't do anything to help.

Let us have a very set game plan to deal with him in the town hall. We should have our arguments very lucidly laid out. And give him no chance to hide behind his usual "I can only help those in my constituency" crap.

I totally agree with you > let us discuss this issue with others also and get togather with some plan and questions. In first meeting in Oct 03 I did asked 2./3 questions directly to him in town hall meeting. Kashmir and myself was there . When we are planning to be citizenship I do not think of district wise issue should come in his mind. Only one thing I am thinking that he is now getting older so why he should bother for his another term of election. ?.
I was not able to verify his voting record,if you can thro some light on this issue i will appreciate.
We should persistantly follow all these people time and again and let them know our strength.
By the time his office staff knows me as I have visited his office 6/7 times even after his office people hesitated to talk on our common goal. Just to let you know when I went to India in Dec 03 , I brought one gift for his office people a small statue of Tajmahal, his office people said that they can only accept chocolate and not any other things. So brought it back my home.Still I am in touch with his office , and I may try to go in next week just to check their mood.

Kashmir . You are right. Last time when we all left ( Oct 03 ,Fremont meeting ) there was one lady .,I am not sure if you remember her , she was a reporter in local news paper " Argus" she asked me our concern and if Congressman is going to raise the same in assembly . I can definately recollect her face if she shows off there this time .
Also if you can let me know about Chinese and other media ,I mean how should I let them know that they shuld come for this meeting I will really appreciate. i will call all of them.
Today Rajiv discussed some list of Journalist in conference call , if you have any idea about that please let me know I will follow up for that in this area.

Don't want to open a thread for all the Congressmen at the same time (it will cause confusion), instead let us work by a game plan. We can all fax one Congressman, follow it up with letters and phone calls. During which we can request "face" time/responses to our queries and targetted questions towards Don Neufield.

Since Pete Stark is having his town hall meeting in March, it was imperative to fax him our letters first in an organized manner. As soon as we are done with him we can move systematically towards the next person on our list.

according to my experience media will be there for Congressman Pete Stark's meeting. Thing is that Congressman needs to emphasis ( raise his voice on immigration delays ) on our issue then only media will be eager to write something on immigration/our side.

Each one should bring a letter to urge Congressman something.
Your letter should include your name, your address, and your signature.

You may request whatever you want.
My current target is:
more Congress members talk directly to CSC Director Don Neufeld so that he has to keep his promise.
