Sriram1975, Thanks for sharing interview preparation guide. I am waiting for my Dad's interview date from NVC. Could you please share how much time you had to wait after NVC accepted the documents to get an interview date? Thank you!
Lawyers on AVVO suggest to move the case from AOS to Counselor Processing, so you save on i130 processing time and there is continuity to your case, but of course you have to wait for i824 processing to move the case from AOS to CP.
Anyone has tried switching processing routes this way? or...
I am USC and applied for my father's green card (concurrent process 130/485/131) while he was here on B2 visa. He needed to leave urgently to attend his sister's funeral. Advance parole approval came much later while he was abroad.
It seems like now he will be denied entry at POE with the...
So I found answers to my questions, just in case anyone else later finds this thread:
total fees is $1760 and a single check, mo or g1450 can be used.
eligibility criterion is: c(9)
I am going to try this, I anyway don't have any other document. There is a possibility of RFE or perhaps...
I am assembling package for my father. My mother is no more. Here are the forms I am filing in one package: g-1145, g-1450, I-130, I-485, I-131, I-765, I-864 along with medical report from civil physician. Can someone please answer following questions:
1) is my total fee calculation correct ...
I-485 instructions point to this page where for India school-leaving certificate is acceptable in lieu of birth certificate

Does anyone have experience with such alternate documents?
Thanks.
Hi. I am applying for my father’s green card via concurrent filing, my mother is no more. My father holds a visitor visa and has been to US one time before when he stayed 5 months and left. He has come back on visitor visa and I want to apply for his green card right away.
I have a question...
Contacting my senator office moved my case to interview completed. Now my senator office says they can't help with scheduling oath ceremony because background check it pending. I guess I will wait 120 days after interview then file Writ Of Mandamus....?
I know what you mean. I am in no way on uscis radar by country, religion or background... I have been living in US, working, filing taxes since 2000, LPR since 2004.
I believe it's just those cases randomly picked for extended checks. My question is what are my options if uscis is just taking...
My n400 application receipt number starts with IOE with receipt date May 2016. I have had delays in every steps of the way starting from delayed biometrics (3 months), super-delayed interview (11 months) and now it has been 2 months since interview and still no oath ceremony scheduled.
To...
For anyone else also waiting for biometrics notice...
It has been 40+ days, called uscis and logged a service request. the guy on he phone said I should receive the biometrics notice or an explanation in next 30 days. Also made an appointment for June 30th with infopass if no communication...
you may also want to look at this case: http://forums.immigration.com/threads/decision-can-not-be-made-due-court-dispassion-letter-and-trips-review.326004/
these guys supposedly resolved some misunderstanding with uscis by calling, visiting and following up.
Thanks everyone for replies earlier. I finally filled in May 2016 after waiting for the long trip >180 days to move out of the last 5 years window.
Question: If they still deny my application based on my frequent trips, do they do it at the interview by first giving me a chance to explain the...
My 2 cents: Consult a lawyer asap. This forum is probably not for such involved cases. The burden to proof anything is on you not them. Also, USCIS makes a lot of money in fees, that is a cost to enjoy benefits of this land, there is no way around it :(, so try to make peace with it.
Which office schedules the biometircs appointments? is it the local field office or the service center? I see on trackitt.com that other filers in California have received biomentics notice in 20 days... I've been waiting 35 days...
Received the I-797C receipt notice on May 17th. Priority date on the notice is May 9th. It has been 30+ days and no biometrics appointment notice yet. Is it normal? Living in San Bruno city which is covered by San Francisco Field office. Thanks!
Hello EURO2014. Thanks for the eligibility calculator link.
Are you the programmer of the calculator? The calculator gives different answers based on how you give the first trip out dates.
When I give actual dates of absence, i.e. 05/20/2009 - 05/05/2011, it tells me that I am not eligible. I...
Hi quick question.
My wife has immigrant visa(F2A) interview in couple of days at New Delhi consulate. We never received the physical letter from NVC. All we have is the soft copy of the interview notice sent to us in email. Question is: do you need the original physical letter from NVC or...
