    Passport Stamped Today in SJC

I had an appointment that I made through my attorney (cost $10) for 1:30 - 2:30 today. I arrived at the Monterey Rd. office at about 1:10. There was nobody in line outside the building (I guess because of the new InfoPass system). I went straight in and was directed to Room 200 on the second...

    WAC03-142-XXXXX Approved

I just checked my e-mail for something completely unrelated and was shocked to see this message from USCIS: ----- This case has been approved. On August 6, 2004, an approval notice was mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update...

To those who were approved more than 60 days ago...

Some of you may not be checking the USCIS Web site anymore, but today they posted this notice: "If you were granted permanent resident status or entered the U.S. with an immigrant visa more than 60 days ago and have not received your first permanent resident card, please call 1-800-375-5283"

    Second EAD Card Received

I received my second EAD card yesterday in the mail. It is valid for one year. 140/485 applied concurrently in April 2003. My 140 was approved in early June 2004. My first FP will expire in a month. No idea when 485 will be approved.

    Possible Error on Approval Notices

I remember reading a few approvals on this thread recently that said that the approval notices didn't provide information about going for passport stamping. There's a story today on one attorney's Web site that these notices were issued in error. I haven't seen it on anyone else's Web site...

    AC21 when 140 not approved

My lawyer's Web site published some notes from the recent AILA conference, with an interesting note from William Yates about portability prior to 140 being approved: Adjustment Portability Before I-140 Approval Notwithstanding the August 4, 2003, memorandum from Mr. Yates, it remains...

    RFE on Second EAD

My 2nd EAD RD is April 15, 2004, and today I received an e-mail update that USCIS has sent an RFE about it. Anybody know what the standard RFE questions are for EADs (since I already qualified for the first EAD, I'm surprised that there's a problem with the second one)? Thanks.

Possible concurrent adjudication of I-140 and I-485

I honestly can't tell if the below is an April Fool's Day joke (it says at the bottom it isn't), but I'll post the link here and if people see confirmation of the same information posted elsewhere, perhaps it is true. If so, it sounds like a good thing, although there are still some vague...

SPAM: Pilot Program in Dallas for FB and DV 485

Even though this isn't applicable for employment-based applications, it's interesting to see an example of a new process being tried out by CIS for reducing backlogs in the family-based and diversity-lottery adjustments of status. The Dallas office is implementing a pilot program to attempt...

EB1C - Multinational Executive Manager Thread

Although there seems to be a little movement on the EB2 and EB3 categories for I-140 petitions, the date for EB1C still appears to be frozen at February 11 (in fact, a few months ago it was at March something, then moved backwards!). Considering that EB1 is supposed to mean "first...

    H1B Cap Reached

http://uscis.gov/graphics/publicaffairs/newsrels/h1bcap_NR.pdf The theory is that USCIS will pick up the pace on I-140 petitions once the cap is reached. Of course, I'm sure we'll all believe it when we see it...

New JIT Report Available - Some Bad News

There are new processing dates posted on the USCIS Web site at: https://egov.immigration.gov/graphics/cris/jsps/index.jsp# The Multinational Executive/Manager date has moved backwards from March 4, 2003 (which it has been for the last couple of months) to February 11, 2003. I don't know...

Advance Paroles Available from San Jose and San Francisco

I have already received my AP, but I saw this posting on my company attorney's Web site and hadn't seen it mentioned elsewhere on this board, so thought I would pass on the URL for those still waiting for their travel documents. http://www.cooley.com/news/alerts.aspx?id=38448420 It looks...

    WAC03 I-140 Status?

Now that the I-140 JIT dates also seem to have ground to a halt, I thought it might be a good idea to see if there are any approvals happening at all. Since AC21 portability doesn't apply until the I-140 is approved, it's actually more of a concern to me than the delays in I-485 at this point...
