I had an appointment that I made through my attorney (cost $10) for 1:30 - 2:30 today. I arrived at the Monterey Rd. office at about 1:10. There was nobody in line outside the building (I guess because of the new InfoPass system).
I went straight in and was directed to Room 200 on the second...
It's ridiculous that they wouldn't let you get your stamping when you were already there, and when they haven't made any announcement about InfoPass being available there yet.
Hope you get your stamping soon!
(I'm going this afternoon to get mine - I arranged an appointment through my...
San Jose Info
A few months ago at the SJ center, when there were a lot fewer approvals, it seemed like they would allow people without an appointment to stand in the appointment line (my friend did that in May). But recently, a lot of people have reported that they have been kicked out of the...
More details
Some more details about my case, in case they are helpful to others:
1 - Prior to my approval yesterday, my LUD was May 29. On that day, my 140 also had a change in LUD (it hadn't been approved yet) with no message change. My 140 LUD changed a couple of more times until June 4...
I just checked my e-mail for something completely unrelated and was shocked to see this message from USCIS:
-----
This case has been approved. On August 6, 2004, an approval notice was mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update...
What year?
GCHolder100, it's not clear what year you applied for your 485 because the WAC number you listed doesn't have enough numbers in it. Was it November 26, 2002 or 2003?
Thanks.
Some of you may not be checking the USCIS Web site anymore, but today they posted this notice:
"If you were granted permanent resident status or entered the U.S. with an immigrant visa more than 60 days ago and have not received your first permanent resident card, please call 1-800-375-5283"
I think that immigrationwatch.com gets their information by scanning the USCIS Case Status Online. Their list of approved 140 applications does not include mine. It was approved on June 3, but the USCIS Web site still says "Application was received on ...".
Csc
Sorry about that. I was thinking that this thread was specifically for CSC-related applications.
Also, the EAD notice date was mid-April. I had an RFE because my signature didn't fit in the space required. It took about a month from sending in my new signature until I got the approval.
I received my second EAD card yesterday in the mail. It is valid for one year.
140/485 applied concurrently in April 2003. My 140 was approved in early June 2004. My first FP will expire in a month.
No idea when 485 will be approved.
Good explanation, TRC
The Real Canadian,
I think you've provided an excellent explanation of why the 140 must be approved before AC21 can be applied. There seems to be an opinion by some people that if 6 months have passed, then they are entitled to immigrate to the U.S. even if they don't...
Possibly Signature
I had an RFE on my EAD and it was because my signature didn't fit in the allocated space. They sent a paper with a little box on it and told me to make sure the signature fit inside (I don't know why they don't include that on the original form!).
They received my new one...
I remember reading a few approvals on this thread recently that said that the approval notices didn't provide information about going for passport stamping.
There's a story today on one attorney's Web site that these notices were issued in error. I haven't seen it on anyone else's Web site...
My lawyer's Web site published some notes from the recent AILA conference, with an interesting note from William Yates about portability prior to 140 being approved:
Adjustment Portability Before I-140 Approval
Notwithstanding the August 4, 2003, memorandum from Mr. Yates, it remains...
Ead Rfe
I received an RFE on my EAD yesterday (it was issued three weeks ago, but just made its way to me via my company's attorneys).
The problem was that my signature didn't fit within the size required for the document. So they sent a page with a little box on it with instructions to make...
All my details were in the post prior to the one confirming my approval, but I'm adding them below as well.
I had no RFE on my 140. I just found out the RFE on my EAD is for a new signature (probably doesn't fit within the box they need it to.)
EB1C (multinational manager/executive)...
Confirmation of Approval
I received confirmation from my company's HR representative today that my 140 has been approved after more than 14 months since filing. The USCIS Web site still has not been updated.
Now the wait continues for 485...
140 Possibly Approved (RD April 2003)
I may have had my I-140 approved. My company's legal firm, which represents employees through the GC process, has a Web site where they update the status of their clients' cases. I checked today and it says that the 140 has been approved, but I haven't...
