Saras76,
Your posts are always to the point and have been helpful to many on this forum. But, I don't see a huge difference in having a green card at hand as opposed to having EAD and AP. Agreed that having green card gives you more freedom and better options. But, I think it will be a...
I am thinking it is a personal check that is returned for your record once encashed. I know some banks do that although several banks post copies online. You can always call the bank and see if the check was cashed?
Pastic_card - Your words do sound great. But, I don't have high expectations at this point. I will be extremely happy if they approve my case (or at least send an RFE) within the next one year. I am surprised that your case hasn't been picked up.
Melkam,

bbb,
Yes, EAD approval took me just about a month from the Notice Date. However, I don't have the card in my hand yet. I was told it takes about 2 weeks to receive the card in mail.

Getting an RFE is a good sign. Just relax while on vacation and get your documentation ready once you return. There shouldn't be any problems with your re-entry into the US as your AP is still valid. I am guessing your RFE is either related to birth certificates or marriage...
Congratulations Savithris. Looks like your GC process was pretty painless.
GCdeewana, You will get your 485 approval very soon. Keep your fingers crossed :)
I heard that your I-140 approval notice shows your Priority Date. I haven't seen my approval notice yet, so I haven't confirmed this myself. I will check my approval notice in a week and will post what I see.
Got an email that my I-140 is approved. See my signature below for details. Looks like NSC is changing gears and speeding things up. Hopefully, you all get your approvals very soon.
sea98121,
That is a million-dollar question :) I haven't seen better explanation than saying that it is just random and that NSC is just unpredictable. It all depends on which officer is processing your application. It is unfortunate that people from 2001/2002/2003 are still waiting and...
