Can one claim unemployment benefit while on EAD(as a derivative dependent)? I have found 50% say you cannot and 50% say you can. Does any have expericence on this matter??

I have heard some say: it is an insurance that company pays and doesn\'t come from the state. So nothing to do with the government. and you need to have unrestricted work authorization which is EAD. And the UI office checks with A number if one is ok to get it. Anybody has come up with this...

any idea? please respond.

his own h1b. now automatically on principal applicant\'s dependent and has an EAD. Can he claim for unemployment benefit while looking for job????

biu. any updates ? my FP was given on May 29. The voice system is not updated yet. Isn\'t it time for the VM to get updated? Mine was old traditional paper charcoal fingerprinting, could that take longer?

CWT, thanks for visiting back and reassuring everybody here. We have no choice but believe you if you honestly not trying to confuse us. If you were kidding, please say so. There is no advantage of confusing a bunch who are on the same boat. This still amazes me how this case got approved...

This could be true. everybody is afraid of what to exactly say since no regulation yet. We need to take a vote of all attorneys and their web sites and see who has the majority in line of ok on 180 day rule.

which service center? when is your RD? If your attorney is confident then it should be ok. attorney know the best. if someone crosses 180 days and laid off and also company goes bankcrupt(company name does not exist) then what will be the case?

mitwaa, when was that statement released? is it recent? There was a big controversy going around on this site about rules vs. regulation vs. law and all lawyers are afraid of talking positively since it is not a regulation yet. So it is 100% a INS regulation then?
