I honestly do not know. The lawyers did the work and I was only 15 when they did this. I would have to look this up. Thank you so much for all the help. I am glad that we had a better correspondence here. The earlier thread I started some guy was so rude and cruel as to say that we deserved what...
HOW DARE YOU! YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW BAD IT WAS FOR US! I NEVER ASKED YOU TO REPLY! SO IF YOU HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO SAY THEN GET THE HECK OUT OF THIS SITE. THERE WAS NO LIE IN OUR PART! YOu do not know me or my family and what we went through. You did not even get what I was tlaking about and...
They said it was because our asylum case has been decided on before the 150 days were over. But when the judge denied our asylum application, we were granted WOR.
What do we do then?
I am not sure whether it might help us prove that we have no home to go to or whether they might just deny it and tell us to wait for the decision on the appealed asylum case we have. Should we go ahead and include it?
I see. But we have not even gotten our EAD yet. We filed for it but it was denied. The judge denied our asylum case before the 150 days were over. Does this mean we have to reapply? or re open?
Also this may sound stupid, but could you please tell me what a GC is?
Thank you all for replying. We appealed our case to the 9th circuit court already. We are now just waiting for the result. For the EAD though I am a little confused. When we applied for EAD we got denied because the judge who initially looked at our case gave a decision before the 150 days were...
I feel like I am on the same boat. Me and my family came here legally with a visitor's visa. My dad filed for asylum but it was denied. We were granted WOR which means we can stay in the country as long as we appeal our case. But I am graduating from college too and our lawyers have given us...
So what you are saying is that our case is done for even though we appealed? I am not talking about EAD here. Could you please just answer whether or not I could get another copy of a judge's order?
Yeah, I know it will not get me citizenship. But I just want to be able to work. I don't want to marry anyone because I don't want people saying that I only took advantage of that person. I would rather get it some other way.
Our WOR still stands. So I guess all that is left is for us to file...
I said we lost the asylum case. Obviously, we filed for an appeal. But even though we lost the case we were granted WOR. How am I confused? What I am asking here is whether or not I can get another copy of the letter saying that as long as our case is alive that we can stay in the country.
So we applied for EAD as soon as our asylum case went to court. It was denied and so was our asylum case. But we appealed our asylum case and was granted withholding of removal. I, an asylum applicant's child, would like to get EAD so I can work. I am graduating from university soon, and I...
Well it was 2006. We received the letter after we were granted withholding of removal. We lost the initial asylum case and we filed for appeal almost right after.
So, we lost our asylum case. But we did file for an appeal. After that we got a letter saying we can stay in the country for as long as our case is alive. Could I still get a copy of that letter since I lost it?
