Why don’t you renounce your former country citizenship? Then you will be foreign and they couldn’t arrest you for not going to vote.

This is something I didn’t like too. It creates problems in your country of birth as well – as you can’t enter as USC. Partial solution is to request place of birth (city) instead of country as this is allowed.

You have the right to request from them to write your place of birth (city) instead of country in passport.

How many of you have requested notification of application acceptance? Should we bother with it as we already have proof of delivery using cert. mail/return receipt and looking at check processing?

Keep in mind that process vary from state to state. It is not same aplying in NY, CA or UT... Look at signatures from your state to get more acurate data.

Once they make a copy - you will get back your original certificate. You can go with your US passport instead of NC - and they will accept it.
