Refugee Travel Document - updates 2019 onwards

This is done all the time. I used the RP as soon as I learned that I could, and naturalised without issues (I had other issues, not this). If you check the forum, you will see many others have done this too, because it is definitely allowed.

Yeah it's only way to go. You'll need visas but still, the extra year is invaluable.

I didn't renew my green card when I turned 14 and now I'm an adult. Need help.

Ok, you can get a SS card from the SSA: https://www.ssa.gov/number-card/replace-card You said you have photocopies of your GC? If IIRC, you only need a copy to apply for a passport or certificate of citizenship...

I didn't renew my green card when I turned 14 and now I'm an adult. Need help.

So, you were a permanent resident living with your parents and they naturalised when you were still a minor. Which year was this? If it was after 2000, you are a citizen and need to follow instructions to get a passport, not renew your green card. You can and should also apply for a certificate...

Will they deny entry if OCI had not been updated?

Hi, I was issued OCI 10 years ago at the age of 30, as was my non-Indian-origin wife, and my 1-year-old child who is now 8. We all have new passports, and I never updated the OCI with new photos and what not (the rules are a bit confusing to be honest). WIll they deny us entry if we travel on...

Traveling Outside the US As Asylee applicant ,Asylee,LPR through Asylum

The USVI are a US territory, so you don't actually cross a border. However, CBP often do checks between the two places. Take your proof of legal status with you but you don't need border-crossing documents. Just use your DL when asked for ID for checking in and boarding.

Refugee Travel Document - updates 2019 onwards

I used to write 'set to expire' on the application where it asks about the old RTD, and never attached it knowing the new one would always arrive after the old one expired.

I'm not an AS6, but the card says I am...

I don't know why you got AS7. That's definitely for spouses. But, you're definitely AS so it ought to be correct overall.

I'm not an AS6, but the card says I am...

Haha, I was going to respond to this message saying the OP will probably not respond to such an old thread, and then noticed I created it. Weird. I don't even visit this forum that often, so lucky you. I never sent the card back. Like many people said, it was probably because I turned 21 before...

    Old Immigration paperwork after citizenship

Hmm, I'm always nervous about throwing away official documents without at least scanning them. But, I think most people do, and are completely fine. Your choice. Make sure you shred the important stuff, though. Or, burn it.

    Re-entry permit reasons

Nah, they issue the RP for basically any reason you want to leave.

Have people really been asked why they used their NP and not an RTD for international travel?

There's a difference between using your NP and renewing your NP as an asylum based LPR. Using your NP is much easier. Usually you don't get any questions re-entering the country. In fact, CBP often ask why you're not traveling on your NP instead of an RTD or RP. They could question you during...

Asylee apply for Advanced Parole , instead RTD.

If you have an asylum-based GC, yes, you can apply for a re-entry permit. The advantage is the two-year validity. The disadvantage is you basically need a visa for everywhere.
