Answer
First of all, there is no 31st in April.
As per my understanding, you need to convert your old case to PERM to keep your old PD. But the two applications must be identical. Or you can file a PERM, get it approved, and file I-140. Then if your old case is approved by that time, you can...
My 2001 case
Man, I thought mine was the oldest pending case! My case was approved today. Online status changed this morning. I am completely speechless.. BTW, my co-worker's case was also approved last week, she was notified by HR, PD APR2002.
It is finally my turn!
My status changed to certified this morning. My lawyer called PBEC and got confirmed. It is a long 5.5 years!!! Now waiting for the certification to arrive. Good luck to us all! :)
I was hopping that my case would be certified before Labor Day as all the friends I know got their case approved, no matter it was filed before mine or later. But now the reality is that I still have to wait as others can file 140/485 and get EAD/AP. It is so unfair!
Now, my plan is to wait...
Case#
Do you know your case #? I just don't understand why some older cases got skipped! What is your plan? Wait until 9 months after the case was assigned to analyst? Then what?
No FIFO
My case was assigned to analyst on 09JAN2006 according to the (202) guy. So you can see that you are not alone.
BTW another old case got approved: a friend got his LC certified, MD SWA,EB3-RIR, PD 04JUN2001, approved on 30AUG06.
odd?
Just learnt that a friend's FEB2005 case got approved! And his case is EB2 so he can file 140/485 concurrently! At the same time, we old timers are still waiting... His case was filed from MD SWA and later the company got bought out by a CA based company. He thought that his case might...
Congrtulations!
Congratulations! Do you know when your case was assigned to an analyst? I just want to estimate how long it takes to approve a case. Mine was re-assigned to analyst in Jan.2006. Thanks!
202# leads to Foreign Labor Certification deparment in DOL
The number belongs to Deparment of Foreign Labor Certification in DOL which is in charge of the two backlog centers. You can google the 202# to verify. They have access to the database, so they can provide you the case status. PBEC's...
Congratulations!
Good to see a MD 2001 case got approved! Hope mine is close. Do you mind sharing your case number? I am also from MD and with PD of 2001.I doubt writing to senators and DOL officials will help since I have done that two months ago too.
You are absolutely right!
I think even they have the on-line status thing in place, all you will get is pending or certified. It won't tell you much about which stage your case is in and how much longer you need to wait. And they always have this excuse of "every case is different"..
That is the same answer we got when calling the (202)#: response received and in RIR queue. I just wonder what went wrong. But you are not alone.
You guys are luckier compared to people like me, for at least somebody had touched your cases and sent out NOFs. My case is still collecting dust in somewhere I don't even know....
My friend's case
Just learnt last night that my friend's case got approved after they responded to the NOF at the end of last month. His case is from DC SWA with PD of May2001, EB3/RIR, he is an accountant.
