Guys, I just couldn't believe it: my case showed certified today. It's been 4 years without one day. Thank you all for your support. I wish this hell to end for you soon.

Basically, your decision should be based on what type of application you have EB2 or EB3. If it's EB2, once your LC is approved you (your employer through your lawyer) will be able to submit applications for I-140 and I-485 concurrently, and you will be able to get permission for you spouse to...
I don't think that it's a problem with your case; it's just because there are many of us like you in the line or BEC is working on something else and is not approving traditional cases with RR submitted. I am in the same boat. RR submitted on Feb 1; the case is in Final Review and no news since. :(
My recruitment period ended on Jan 15th. Today our HR person let me know that they had received a letter from the BEC stating that no resumes had been received in response to my ad. We will be sending the recruitment report asap now. :)

My job hasn't been posted yet. The RI generated on Nov 29th says it will be from 14 of Dec to 15th of Jan. I think the lawyer will need to do some preparations before that (obtaining prewailing wage, etc).
My company also moved after my case was filed. Our lawyer didn't think it was a problem for the TR to RIR conversion. But, it made impossible TR-to PERM conversion.

As to my knowledge you don't have to switch your H1 to the other employer to let them start your new PERM process. They can do it right away. But you have to keep your current RIR case alive in order to be able to update your current H1 beyond 6-year limit. Or you will have to have your PERM LC...
