We took the citizenship oath about a month back, applied for US passports
for myslef, my wife & my minor daughter and received all the three
passports. We had attached our daughter's green card along with
her application form. To my surprise, they have sent us back her
green card...
I had my oath ceremony today and got the naturalization certificate.
The whole process took about 3 hours.
Here is my question.....
At the time of the interview, I was asked to print my name on the photo
and so I had simply written my full name in all capital letters.

Our citizenship oath has been scheduled for next month and my wife & I are planning to apply for our passports right after the oath.
My question is can we apply for our child's (10 year old) passport also along with ours or do we have to wait till we get our passports? We are not planning...
I had my interview in Boston yesterday.
It was fairly simple. All the 10 questions were from standard list of 100.
Then, the officer asked me write "it is a sunny day" on a piece of paper.
Afterwards, I was given the oath letter for 1/25/06 (yes, 3 months wait).
The interview took about 10...
I did my finger printing today.
When he was doing the last finger, a "Match Warning" message in red color
showed up on the screen. For all the other 9 fingers, a "PASSED" message in green color showed up.
He tried 4 or 5 times and the same "Match Warning" message
showed up every time...
I got my FP notice and the fingerprinting was scheduled for 8/27
at Boston office. When I looked at the calendar, I was surprised
to find out it is a Saturday. Does INS really work on Saturdays ?
Anybody had similar experience ?
What exactly is "name check" ? I know that INS would send the
finger prints to FBI for background check as part of N-400 processing.
Is "name check" different from "finger prints check" ?
We are going to shortly apply for citizenship. We have a 9 year old kid
(born in India). We would like to take the US citizendship only for myself
and kid if possible, retaining my wife's Indian citizenship. We are planning to move back to India and so, we thought it might be better if one...
