Three Month post foreign Trip for N400 submission

Hi There. One of the requirements for filing N400 (Naturalization) is to maintain residence at least for 90 days prior to filing the application. Does it mean maintaining a residence? Or does one have to be physically present in USA for 90 days immediately before filing of N400. In my case I have returned from India last week (after a five month stay there). Can I file my N400 if the other requirements are met? Further, I have stayed for over three years in the current home. Would appreciate advice on this.

Also, I have been holding a Green Card for almost eight years. During this period, I have visited India four times, but in each case for less than six months. Would that be a red flag for the immigration officer?

Thanks.

It just means resident, not physically present.

Four visits to India shouldn't be a problem, unless they were back-to-back, in which case they only could be a problem for continuous residence purposes. If your travel was spread evenly over the eight years, you have nothing to worry about.
