Does one need a visa to enter France with reentry permit?

Hello,

Another question here.....

Does one need a visa to enter France if
  • US legal permanent resident with
  • US issued Reentry permit?
My boyfriend is a refugee from Cambodia but became a permanent legal resident in the US like 20 years ago.
He applied for reentry permit for our trip to France next month. I know I don't need a visa to travel to France since our trip will only be about 2 weeks but does he need one?
